With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.

I notice alot of people talking about different ways to promote Football. Anybody have any good ideas? We should get together and come up with a plan to promote the heck out of our team.

Anyone Interested in helping email me at [email protected]

PurpleBlood,

Welcome aboard the board...uh...

Sounds like it might be an idea or worth doing.

WSUCATFAN, SodandWaldo, Talhad, N.Ogdencat, AJwild, SMJ, Patten Jr, Cheesus, WILDCAT....etc,

What yall think?

There isn't any harm in trying. I think another option would be to go to all the area cities and give them a stack of schedules, along with a poster to put up in their offices, and put them into that months utility bills. Also, I think every business in Ogden should have a poster and a W flag. The biggest problem is getting the word out.

Hey PBlood,

What about all us going around together to all the local businesses on harrison n putting the posters in their windows & bringing mini schedules too?

I haven't been around campus lately to see if they are anyway where yet and i havent even see the poster yet.

I would like to see Mac backers from SLC come up and watch our AWESOME team. How about working a deal with UTA on a WILDCAT RUNNER promo? The train ride, t-shirt, game ticket, & Bus ride from the train station...right to the stadium gates. I would think that UTA would jump at the chance to get more riders on the "WILDCAT RUNNER." How about a nice Purple Pak welcome at the tailgate for the train fans when they arrive at the stadium? (pregame victory DEW, brats & brew..or whatever)
I am willing to help any way I can. Most of you know i onl;y have one wish before I die ...to see 20,000 fans at a Wildcat game.

Why doesn't the marketing dept actually talk to us and then put together some sort of plan to actually execute that plan? Pathetic...thats all I can say.

Well, we already have some of the key ingredients:

Mac is a great program manager as well as coach,

We have great athletes, especially an exciting, high scoring offense necessary to get fans' butts in the seats,

Stewart is already one of the better venues in the FCS...

The media seem to have armed up a bit in the past year.

Football endowments might allow better coaching salaries and help stabilize the program...
Is there a way to increase local business support? Are there any cultural or legal constraints about high dollar raffles for prizes to be given ou in the fouorth quarter? It will take more than a couple of good seasons to sustain program growth. Do we have a dedicated core who can stick with it for a decade?

I feel we have a decated core of supporters...unfortunately very few exist in the marketing dept... based on results,(half empty stadium). We have had an awesome product on the fileld for a few years now. I have enjoyed every game . We've always been in it in the 4th quarter. I know i am a die hard fan, but shouldn't marketing be bleeding purple like we all do here?
They can make up any excuses they want, but based on results(half empty stadium) something extaordinary indeed needs to happen and it just may be us, the website staff and Purple Pak that gets to take on this mission and take it to the streets.
How about street events to draw attention? How about the Ogden Amphitheater? I am just throwing pasta on the wall to see what sticks. Are there any other pasta tosers out there? Count me in for any assistance I can render.

We have a good 20k students at weber and I'll bet more than half of them don't know that their wildcat card gets them into sporting events free of charge. I'm willing to help increase attendance by spreading the word to as many students as possible that we have a hell of a football team and they can get into the games for free!!
I realize that we're not going to get 8 thousand students a game anytime soon, but there is no reason why we shouldn't be measuring student support in the thousands instead of hundreds! We have a quality D-1 championship contender football team with several nfl prospects; why should attendance be an issue?

Another issue is many of the students don't even know we are DI. They think we are DII in all sports. In that case I can see why they wouldn't be overly excited to show up. But they need to be aware. Something needs to be done.

We need Purpleblood to lead the revolution since Talhad and Purplefogdog cant.

I made 2 pictures that said I BACK MAC GO WILDCATS with the Wildcat in the Shield logo in between, I have put them on both back windows of my car, maybe some people will see them and think about checking the Cats out.
