Injuries

this past game hit us hard, I wish we had a bye week

hopefully smith and the guys are fine

Freeman's performance tonight was impressive

Just talked to one of the players it looks like torn ligaments in the hip for Sawyer don't know when he will be back and Howland is out for the rest of
the year with knee injury.

Cal fan here who was at the game today. I just really hope that both of your talented QB's bounce back because you played a really great game and I constantly was admiring your heart and ability. I sincerely hope everyone gets better, the injuries are not a setback to your program this year, and you dominate your conference.

Go Bears! Go Vikings!

PS - Your uniforms are much nicer than Oregon's. You guys know how to use the green.

Thanks for the nice words.

Congratulations to the Bears for their play today. Other than the injuries to the QB's this was a great experience and all Cal fans who visited this site were great. Best wishes for the rest of the season. Beat up Oregon a little for us, we still have to play them too.

Thanks again and good luck.

I wish I could tell you that you played a better team today than you will in Eugene, but to be honest I'm really worried about when Cal plays them in Berkeley. They are a really good team.

I don't think anyone in your conference can ever refer to you guys as cowards, playing two highly ranked Pac-10 teams (although Cal was more highly ranked pre-season).

First-I really hope your QBs, etc. are not out long. Smith looked good, and I'm just sorry our 1st team D got them in some bad body positions. I think you guys could really make a BSC run.

You DL was at least as advertised...Tedfords post game comments brought that out too...I was expecting to see our OL really open holes and your guys were very tough!

I agree with the post that team speed was an issue...made it hard for you when we passed especially.

Best of luck, and again...I sincerely hope your guys can all come back quickly.

A bye week would really help us right now.

But we are playing a struggling Weber State team next, so it's not as bad as it could have been.

torn ligaments? That sounds really bad.

PS. Cal fans were great down at the game.

I will see what I can find out about Smith. The guys had the day off today which is a good thing because when my son came over last night he couldn't move he said he felt like he was in a car accident. As soon as I find out anything I will post it.

From the looks of Rob's pictures, Kirkland is taking snaps and Smith is on crutches.

Anyone hear about the results of Smith's MRI?

Have not heard yet but I stopped by the practice today and Sawyer was basically using the cruches because the train told him too. Coach kept on telling him to stretch and stay loose. Looks like he will be sitting this saturdays game out for sure.

Tremayne was doing alot of practice drills with the QB's because we are down to QB's, plus it looks like OC will be working him into running a few more plays than he did during Cal. However Freeman looks to be the goto guy this weekend. I think he will get the job done, its his chance to shine. If he plays well he may be able to win the spot as starting QB next season.

Mu Ali was not dressed in shoulder pads so I think he will not be playing at all this weekend.

Does anybody know if Ali has been doing alot of conditioning to stay in shape and to be ready once he gets cleared of his injury??
