Is Northern Colorado WSU’s biggest rival?

I thought you Bears fans might enjoy reading this blog entry from Ogden's local paper, the Standard Examiner. The blog's author is Matt Gerrish.

http://blogs.standard.net/standing-out/2011/01/31/is-northern-colorado-wsus-biggest-rival/

Here's a portion of the blog:

"I know, WSU likes to call Idaho State or Montana its rivals in respective sports, but Northern Colorado in its short Big Sky history has already made a case that it deserves the Wildcats’ biggest rival label. The series win/loss records are a bit lopsided in WSU’s favor, but it’s just a matter of time before that gap closes and the Bears start winning their fair share of these doozies."

Its getting there fast, but I think there is still a little deeper hatred between WSU and ISU(basketball and football) and WSU and UM(basketball)

Yeah, we won't be your rival 'till we beat you in a meaningful basketball game (Big Sky tournament) or a big football game.

It's just a good sign the question is even coming up, 2 years ago we were still being laughed at so respect is coming slowly... in basketball at least.

It doesn't seem like we overlap that much in recruiting which is amazing considering we are boarder states. Be interesting if we start battling for the same recruits.

Taylor Montgomery and Connor Osbourne were recruited by Weber.
