Isaac Nielsen Transferring out of BYU

Started against us this year. Scored 17 points and pulled down 6 rebounds in 26 minutes. He hit 4 of 5 three pointers, blocked a shot and had two steals.

Don't know where he is going. He is from Cali.

Wow that's crazy to see. I went to high school with him (didn't really know him well) and I think this was his first year back from his mission.

Wouldn't be surprised to see he and Bartley join their former assistant coach, Mark Pope, at UVU.

You could be right about UVU. I hadn't thought of that angle. Although Nielsen played really well against us, I didn't hear a lot about him after that. I heard much more about BYUs other freshman center and how much of an impact they were expecting from him next season. I expect that Nielsen was looking at 3 more years of sitting on the bench and getting spot play. Plus, a 6'10'' guy who just wants to sit on the three point line, is not that exciting for BYU. They have a bunch of guards coming in over the next few years and they can all shoot the lights out. BYU needs rebounding more than anything else and Nielsen was just average in that regard. With that said, this transfer still hurts BYU. 6'10' guys who can move and shoot don't grow on trees.
