A win at home gives us the 4 seed and a home game to open up the Big Sky tournament. It'd be the first time EWU has hosted a tournament game since 2006. Lose, and we are the 5th seed and on the road to play PSU, a team that's swept the Eags in the regular season. Get that win at home, and there's a good possibility we play the Bengals again to open up the tournament. I also think we match-up better with the Griz than Weber, so I am hoping UM can beat the Wildcats and get the #1 seed.
All that said, I really feel like depth is a serious issue and has been all season. The Eags only suit up 10 players and have some dudes banged up to boot. I said it early, but losing those three players early on in the season really hurt the Eags in terms of depth, especially considering how much we foul. It's hard to get too upset with how much Griffin fouls out when there is no backup at Center.
I think it's possible we could win a first round tournament game, but I don't see us being able to beat either Montana or Weber, they're too complete. I think we're still a year away, but this season could definitely be something to build upon if we can host and win a Big Sky tournament game.
