ISU is a must-win game

Out of curiosity, anyone know what the "incident" was that seems to have put Chiverton in the dog house? I haven't been able to watch too many EWU games this year, but do know Chiverton was a hell of a talent! Wonder if he'll be out of the dog house for the tournament, or if he's pretty much done getting any significant play time...

He has a lower back injury that has been nagging him along with a fractured foot that has really limited his minutes lately. I don't expect that to change anytime soon before season's end. He basically just needs this off-season to get completely healthy and have a succesful senior year.

Eastern played well last night, we need to win again at home on Saturday to have a shot against the Griz (or Weber if MSU somehow beats PSU). I like the matchup against the Griz in the semi's, we match up well with them and nearly beat them both times we played this year. If Eastern plays the way they did last night, they can beat anyone in the conference. The griz are solid defensively, but Eastern can be so athletic and quick, it is tough to defend when they are clicking on all cylinders. The griz did look good though, they really shut down Bamforth and Lillard last night.

As for Chiverton...I'm not sure what is going on...he hurt his back in the first ISU game and didn't really play after that, came in for a minute but then left, he was still hurt against PSU and last night, I heard the radio show before the game and they said he was still hurting and may not play last night, although he did.
He has also been playing on a broken foot all year, he just needs some time to rest. Not sure about him being in the "dog house", but it could be a possibility, I just thought it was injuries. I think the fact that Kelly has stepped up more and we haven't needed Chiverton with his injuries is also a key to the playing time.

ISU looked beat last night, we need to come out and put it to them early and kill their spirits on Sat, not let them hang around or have a lead, if we can do that, it should be a similar result as last night. If we can make the semi's, anything can happen. We match up well with the Griz, and you can sure as hell bet they would rather play ISU than EWU, no one wants to play a senior heavy team in the post season, especially one with a bunch of athletes that can shoot.

And it's still a must win game. I'm not happy at all that Montana won the conference... Not only was it Montana but it would have given me a chance to see EWU play in Ogden assuming we win against ISU...
