DePaepe: 24 minutes 2 points (1 of 4), 2 rebounds, 0 blocks.

Wade: 14 minutes, 4 points (2 of 5), 6 rebounds 1 block.

Valentine 8 minutes...that is right..8 minutes.

Faucher: 31 minutes, 10 points (3 of 17, that is not a misprint) ), 8 rebounds

Jackson: 16 minutes, 2 points, 2 rebounds, `1 assist, 1 block

Kelly Marchant: 14 minutes, that is right, 14 minutes........

What a joke...What in the heck is going on? When Jackson gets more minutes than Marchant, there is something strange going on. When Wade comes in and plays well for 7 minutes in the first half and then sits on the bench until Sherri must think she has to put her in, there is something strange going on. When the "new lineup" is a joke and Sherri lauds it because the former starters do well, something is wrong. When your point guard is 3 of 17, maybe they should be told to lay off the shots from downtown and try a little passing (3 assists).

At least Jones played well. She was, however, the only starter who did.

Is there a reason why the Viking guards will not pass to post players? Better to shoot a 3 than get anyone else involved. 7 of 29 on threes. PSU's offense is basically a perimeter jump shot. The frontline took 15 shots; the backcourt took 45.

Is there a reason why Wade isn't playing when the other team's posts are eating the Vikings alive?

A coach is supposed to adjust to the game. If a starter is having an off night, they are replaced by someone who is not. Sherri can't seem to do this. I don't know if it is ego or what, but she simply will not do it.

WOW you took the words right out of my mouth....mind reader. I think she gets so angry she can't think straight, but doesn't she get paid to do that, think straight????

What a frustration it must be for the players, esp. Marchant and Wade and Valentine...one thing I noticed though when we did pass into the post against this team, it was often turned over, too predictable.

I dont know how the announcers can gush so much about Murrell and her "extended contract to 2015"....what's to gush about?

If Murrell persists in subbing based on emotion rather than need/skill/basketball situation consider us done...I am sorry for the girls and their efforts.

Shouldn't we still be 4th in BSC not 5th as they show us? We have same conf record as ISU and have beat them by a larger margin than they beat us and we have a better overall record....how does that work? :?

The Viking web site blames the loss on poor shooting....It isn't poor shooting, it is stupid, selfish shooting, terrible defense and poor coaching. The reason other teams shoot so many more free throws is because most of PSU's players don't help each other and allow post players to set up 3 feet from the basket. It is a every woman for themselves defensive scheme. If a guard gets by their defender, it is usually an uncontested layup. If a defender helps out, no-one switches to the player they left to prevent the layup.

I have to wonder how Jones will do back to back after playing all 40 tonight, again you have to wonder what the coach is thinking; I hope she is planning to use km and kv and kw more and sub a little more logically tomorrow. Gotta have hope

I'm not sure why they have PSU listed behind ISU. Usually in a tie, they just list the team with the better overall record (which is PSU) until something concrete is clinched. PSU should be ahead, though, because they have a better record against EWU (1-0 vs. 0-1).

Margin of victory does not factor into the actual tiebreakers, nor does overall record (directly). It goes: 1. Head-to-head record; 2. Common games (top down); 3. RPI.

well that might matter at some point soon, if we can get our heads on straight for the remainder of season.

Since Kate and Jones have been starting:

minutes fg% rebounds blocks points

Kate: 66 28% 10 2 10

Katy: 45 56% * 17* 5* 19

Kelly V: 27 55% 3 1 14

Kelly M: 54 47% 5 0 21

Yankus: 78 47% 15 1 21

Faucher 95 32% 13 1 48*

Jones 98* 33% 5 1 33

Jackson 38 43% 6 1 7

I have to wonder why we don't have a set lineup, with set player rotations, at this point in the season. Sherri makes the most random playing time decisions, based on what... I don't know. All I do know is that KV and KM need more minutes for us to be successful. We are not generating enough points on offense and not defending the paint on defense with the players that Sherri is currently giving minutes to. I don't understand why these 2 veteran leaders have had their minutes drastically reduced while the team has been struggling. I don't understand why Wade doesn't get more opportunities given she is our best rebounder and set the school record in blocks, while the team is struggling. I don't understand why we don't stay in a zone defense when it clearly helps our weak defensive post play, while the team is struggling. I don't understand why the players have to bear the brunt of Sherri's wrath given that they are only executing her seemingly random directives, while the team is struggling. I don't understand why Sherri is unable to give our players confidence to be successful by constantly ripping them and randomly substituting, while the team is struggling. I don't understand why our leading scorer has had her minutes cut in half, while the team is struggling. I don't understand why our "2008 Big Sky Freshman of the Year" has had her playing time reduced to a ridiculous 8 minutes, while the team is struggling.
It seems as if our coach is our own worst enemy here as she is unwilling/incapable of allowing us to be successful. If lineup changes are causing us to lose to teams we once beat with regularity why not revert to something that worked well in the past? Why not give playing time based on production and execution rather than withdrawing playing time based on seemingly random emotion? If these seemingly random coaching decisions seem to defy logic why not communicate the master plan to the team and instruct them to carry it out in a positive way? Unless, of course, the master plan is to confuse our opponents into submission by using physics...the immense power of chaos theory... I know I'm confused!
