No more games on Root. That’s the base message.
I’ve been hearing arguments all summer about streaming vs traditional linear broadcasts in the context of other leagues and sports. What becomes of the Pac-12 Network with the LA schools’ move? MLS signed a streaming deal with Apple that takes away the exclusivity of network broadcasts. Would the NFL go to exclusively streamed games (apparently one or two). Nice timing for ESPN to raise their rates.

Mind you, one station ownership group (one who owns a bunch of Montana stations) did buy rights to 14 Big Sky games, and yes, Montana and Montana State will be involved. Since Scripps owns some southern Idaho stations, I’m wondering if Idaho State gets some love, but no word.
One thing I wondered about… KRCW showed the PSU soccer game against WOU last night. Maybe I’d have heard about it if it wasn’t going up against the Timbers (a monumental wreck of a game). The parties only announced it on Thursday, and it was easy for KRCW because the truck was already in Hillsboro to cover the Hops game in the afternoon. But would KRCW show any football games?
