From what I have heard at the admin level at UNC is that the person to blame for the non-growth of the UNC Football program is Dr. Norton because she was behind the hiring of Collins (not AD Hinrich). Norton has had his back throughout his FAILED tenure. The good news is that when she retires at the end of this school year, Collins will leave. I have also heard that he will be forced to retire, so that he will not be fired.
The bad news is that this year's team must suffer through another terrible season. The best thing all us fans can do is to support the kids, be there for them after the game on the field, and simply say, "thank you coach" when you happen to see a coach. Collectively they are terrible because of the HC, individually I believe there are some good coaches.
2 Corinthians 12:9

I stated recently that UNC has the talent to compete at the FCS level successfully. I believe that was proven by the 1st half play vs. Montana State. The 'collective' incompetent coaching staff is to blame for the 2nd half.

Not sure what a bible verse has to do with your post but I hope you are right about Collins being gone after the season. I usually don't think it helps to fire a coach mid-season but his gameday coaching is so bad I think the players would really benefit from it.

The players are playing above their level. They play hard and it's technically not their fault they're losing because most of them are D2 or NAIA talent level. Collins and crew slipped on recruiting it seems. You have to consistently win in this league to keep your job and support. Why are there 4 starting freshmen on the offensive line? Because recruiting 2-3 years ago for top level offensive linemen was not a priority for some reason.

Does Collins have the support of the Blue and Gold Club? The QB Club? That will say a lot too.
