What a travesty!
Attendance: 1,161
Weber had the highest attendance of all the opening round games.

Very rough draw for you guys. I watched LMU thrash byu in Provo earlier this year. They would have swept byu had their best player not been hurt the first time they played. Good luck on the road in this one. You guys had the best attendance and should have been in the NIT and end up with a road game in the 2nd round. It just doesn't seem very fair.

Bovee... Forfeit this shit tourney. I'm done. For me the season is over. If a tourney committee can't reward the best teams with home games then screw the tourny. You can't get respect if you don't have any respect for yourself. And making us play on Sunday?!? Why will a Catholic Jesuit school be alright with a Sunday game. Last I checked they are suppose to keep the sabboth holy. A least Weber is a state school.

For what it's worth, 9-win Idaho State took them to OT twice this season, lost both, but Joe O'Brien was the coach each time. It's not an impossible game.

Agreed. It's pretty weak. This whole tournament process (NIT included) has been a total freaking mess. WSU should have just won the goddamn Big Sky tourney and we wouldn't have had to deal with this crap. :willybs:

why did loyola get a home game of all schools? they had one of the lowest opening attendance or does that not matter? but do we really care if we got another home game? no one came to ours.

Loyola is the big time. They had over 2,000 in attendance when they hosted a ranked team at home this year.

Darn, I would have loved to see LMU at Weber and I think we could have got 3500, which is huge for this tourney lol. We just let the WCC big time us! I really think we would have had a student section for this game as well with school on Monday. Its about time to stop acting like the little guys and letting ourselves get bullied around because we all deserve better.

If it's not attendance based, then does the committee see LMU as the better team in this match-up? There may be an argument to be made on that side: LMU beat UCLA, BYU, and St. Mary's. Weber's signature win? Well.....it wasn't BYU or St. Mary's. So that makes the big wins this year at home vs. a 13 seed and vs Utah State. All that said, anytime I think about this post season, the one word that keeps coming to mind is "Pocatello."

maybe loyola gets to host us because their RPI is 118 and because they had a season high 3,900 for a home game. or maybe CIT told weber the game can only be played on sunday so weber said no and the church college offered to host.

i had a long drive tonight, & listened to the post game w/ Stew Morrill. He indirectly stated LMU, & USU were guaranteed 2 home games as an incentive to play in the CIT.

He said if LMU wins they will be staying at home, and that there is no way the Aggies will be playing LMU this weekend. USU was guaranteed 2 homes games. He also said he knows, & has a great relationship with the guy who owns, & runs the CIT, and that is why they entered this tournament.

It's really too bad the players can't play in a straight up tournament without dealing with all this BULLS**T politics! We play on a Tuesday and have to wait until Sunday? WTF IS THIS COMITTEE SMOKING? Just goes to show it's not who you know , it's who you blow! iF YOU WANNA KNOW WHO GOT THE HOME GAMES, JUST LOOK FOR DIRTY KNEES. BOGUS! BOGUS! BOGUS! :yikes: :wtf: CIT  :dunce: :tothehand: :flag: :die:

Just lost my respect for this tournament, now I dont ever want to play this tournament again.

What a crock

Utah Valley/Weber State- 2,334
Coastal Carolina/Old Dominion- 2,246
USU/CS Bakersfield- 2,141
Robert Morris/Indiana State- 2,113
Rice/Louisiana Lafayette- 2,037
Bowling Green/akland- 2,015
North Dakota/Drake- 1,829
Tennessee State/Mercer- 1,773
Yale/Fairfield- 1,744
Tennessee Tech/Georgia State- 1,509
Idaho/UCSB- 1,203
Loyola Mary/Fullerton- 1,161
Mcneese St/Toledo- 1,140
Manhattan/Albany- 458
Buffalo @ American- 256

And we have to go on the road :ohno:

You can't build respect for your tournament when get teams to come by playing favorites. Good luck getting teams in the future when you've set the standard that you will make deals with certain schools. No wonder Bakersfield???? was picked. No one else will play. Seriously are the barely .500 Aggies from the collapsing WAC worth selling a bit of your tourney's honor too? Wow....

I've gone off on Stew before here and will only say that it doesn't surprise me that he is once again making deals and hiding up in Cache valley -- or that he is leaning on cronyism to pad his record. And he gets Idaho at home -- another WAC team -- which should piss Idaho off too.

CIT=Lame. And screw you Stew (still afraid to go play on the road?). What kind of a tournament allows a 17-15 team to call the shots? And grow a pair Weber (I'm talking to you Bovee and Rahe). Quit letting these tournaments push you around. I'm finished supporting these BS post season tournaments, including the conference tournament. They are all about $. They couldn't care less about the student athletes or the fans. They won't be getting anymore of my $. Out!

Highest RPI. Check
Best record. Check
Best first round attendance. Check
Best facilities. Check
Best star player. Check
Spineless AD and Coach. Check
Pissed off and disillusioned fans. Check

SERIOUSLY?!? This is truly embarrassing. They play in a Sac State gym!! Wouldn't the CIT want to make a better name for themselves by playing in nicer gyms, at schools with established fans, and by rewarding the best teams in the tournament? Maybe, in all honesty, this is a good thing monetarily for Weber. There have been a couple posts on here about the monies the Cats lost due to their first round game. At least, even though it is a total snub having to travel, Weber won't lose thousands of dollars hosting this game. If Weber were to host Idaho on Saturday night, I'm pretty sure there would have been, at least, 5K at the Dee. Oh well...out of 347 teams, you'd think a tournament could get enough teams to enter without having to get on their knees.

My gut tells me it is all about the $$$ and who will kick in the most Guaranteed $ to the Tournament organizers. If it is spring break, their students will be gone, will be lucky to hit 1500 attendance on Sunday.
LMU likely has deeper pockets and if the above post is to be believed ( and I do believe the comment) WCC members have more pull than BSC teams. This means Weber has to travel, or pony up monies that in essence are thrown down a rathole, not a good use of funds.

Last comment: when it comes to tournaments, I think the approach is dictated to the AD and coach. They don't have as much leverage as you might expect. If Weber said "here are our terms" they might have been told, Sorry! There are always teams that will accept whatever to get the exposure.

Let's support the guys, root for the Cats and look forward to a (hopeful) home game in the next round.

This tournament is a joke. How are the decisions being made and why is there no bracket? We shouldn't have turned down the CBI but it is understandable after last year.

I guarantee that if we win and USU wins we will play in Logan, Weber wont get anymore home games.

LMU is a VERY small school, this gym doesn't suprise me. You should see their baseball field. However, I am thinking about taking the drive down to LA for this game.
