He was a highly recruited receiver coming out of high school. We could use him at that position because remember, Jace isn't coming back to UNC.

Wait. What did I miss? I thought Jace redshirted this season to get academically eligible. Is there an update? He's gone for good? :|

Northern Colorado without Jace Davis this year

Based upon everything I have heard from inside the program Northern Colorado will not have 1st team Big Sky WR Jace Davis this season due to academic ineligibility. He will use his red shirt this season to get his grades back on track. The Bears still have a decent WR corps but would have been way better with Davis this season. Hopefully everything works out so he can return next year.

It's really a shame. I thought he had the makings of an all-american by the time he would be a senior. Let's hope he gets an education somewhere. That's what's more important.

We should be okay with out him. I'm glad Brewington is here. We still have Gunn, Morris and Stimphel. However, it doesn't matter who the receivers are if we can't get better on the offensive line.

Is this confirmed? My son texted me after a team meeting and said Jace is still there.

I found nothing to confirm Jace is gone, which is why I asked the question.
But he's not on the 2011 roster - possibly because he was redshirting?
I don't want to discount the posters who said he's off the team, but maybe it was temporary?

If Jace is still there --- GREAT NEWS! And thanks for passing that on. I'm a big fan of Jace and hope he got his academics in order and is ready to play some football! He has the talent to be something special.

All-Conference.jpg

2010:
Sophomore wide receiver Jace Davis, senior linebacker John Eddy and senior
cornerback Korey Askew all earned First-Team All-Conference honors, while
sophomore Dominic Gunn was named the league’s Second-Team return specialist.

I think he's off the 2011 roster because he was ineligible. Eligible redshirt guys are on the roster, I think, because their redshirt could be pulled at any time.

I go to school up here and have seen him at the school this semester so based on that I would still think he is on the team

You're seeing him in class hopefully.

Yes, I can also confirm this. Talked to some direct sources of the program, got something like a 3.4 last semester. So unless something unusual comes up, he will be back in a gold helmet in the fall.

I, too, confirm it; just asked my kid; he said yes, Jace is on the team. That's good.

It's going to be great seeing Jace back on the field. I'm curious to see what Brewington can do for us. They could be a great offensive threat for us. Gotta get that o-line fixed though.

Looks like Jace won the first-ever UNC Quad - athon. Looks rested and ready.
