Jacksonville State it is...

To All,
ESPN3 again this week against Jacksonville state. I was so damn impressed with our team, the played an "Outstanding Game". I must honestly say I was a little worried when we got the ball and twice we wen 3 and out.  , I knew then that we had a team that came to play. At least the weather will be in the 30's next week, with maybe some snow or rain and snow mixed, so we will be able to stand the weather. I am heading to "Big R" today, and get some equipment for this cold weather, like foot warmers, etc. Even with foot warmers my toes were very cold, along with my fingers. I had so much layers on, it was hell trying to move, especially in the rest room. (so much that portion ;). It was funny, one gentleman came into the rest room looking behind him, he said he accidentally went into the ladies rest room, some lady wanted to kick his butt. ;) ;) ;). I was worried with the passes our QB was going to throw, however, it seemed like the cold weather didn't bother either QBs. I missed who was ejected from the game. My daughter asked me I couldn't give her an answer, I listened from my Truck the entire 2nd half. I was till happy to see the "Die Hard Fans" that sat, stand in that cold weather, rooting our team on to "Victory" 6,129 according to the media     :thumb: :thumb: Go Eagles!!!!! Vic Wallace

Vic, it was Safety Miles Weatheroy that got ejected with the tareting call and may have to sit out next game. Tough one.

You have a good team, congratulations on the win today. However, you wont reach your potential if your players don't stop the cheap shots. Could have been huge if the game was closer. You also need to improve your security. You have some real idiots that sit behind the visiting fans, even started a scuffle. Really.

It was a high ball over the middle. If you don't punish that you're not playing football. :coffee:

No doubt. How can you call that a cheap shot?

It might just be a half. Still hurts and a shitty call.

This is the definition of a cheap shot. Weatheroy's hit wasn't close to this.

That's what the Pac 12 did to Bucannon. There's no telling what Weatheroy will get. Shitty call.

Most of you here are probably already aware but for those who are not, you can watch replays of games on ESPN3 such as the Jacksonville State game.
They remind me of our Eagles in many ways. VERY athletic

Oh god, I can't stand this. I was so pissed at that. Coug fan near us had the audacity to complain about us cheering while a WSU player was down, and then their players were pulling stuff like this. And of course, we were cheering while the other player was down because the play was a good one for EWU and we hadnt yet spotted the injured Coug. Such a mightier than thou attitude from their community. Rant over.

From the sports network write up:

Defense - Jacksonville State had 11 sacks in its 31-10 win at McNeese State, and strong-side linebacker Robert Gray had three of them to go along with seven total tackles and two forced fumbles.

Is this for real? Cheap shots? Hey answer me this, who takes timeouts down by 24 points with less than 2 minutes to play?

Reminds me of the Griz fan who posted that our coaches were using salty language all game and just wanted to "let us know". Loser limp city.

Regardless whether you think it was illegal or not, it is like knowing the down and distance. It is late in the game and the result is in hand. As a player, fundamentals are even more important at the end of the game. Just make the play/tackle you are taught. I hope it doesn't impact next weeks game. I would also recommend you actually put security in the visiting section so they don't have to take the verbal abuse and potential scuffles like last week.

Csgame, security wouldn't be needed if you'd just put your shirt back on...you were just asking for it!
But since you asked nicely I'll see what I can do...Your Welcome!

What was the verbal abuse? Just curious.

Just watched most of the Jax state game on espn replay...McNeese made them look really good. Half the time the center and the qb looked out of sink for McNeese. 18 for Jax is a Beast! They are not as athletic as Toledo which is in my opinion was the most athletic team we played.

Dozy,
Will be there this weekend. Picked up my 6 tickets, I am bringing my other daughter and
Grand Daughter with me. They were there last week, fought that frigid cold, now that we are going to have a heat wave 38 ;) degrees they want to come again, they enjoyed themselves. I was in the Eagle Athletic Association area where all the food and heat was located. :thumb: :thumb: Had to go my vehicle and defrost my toes and fingers, stayed there the entire 2nd half. :( You forgot to close the door on the Honey Bucket, the door was open on one of them yesterday. Told Chris my side kick, that must have been the Honey Bucket that Dooozy was in. ;) See you on Saturday, will be in my regular seats. Go Eagles!!!!! Vic Wallace

EWURanger/kalm,
Spoke to Coach and Miles Weatheroy yesterday at practice, they did confirm he will have to sit out the 1st half. I is going to be tough, we have the personnel that can go in and get the job done. I wish they had someone that can review these calls and have the authority to over ride the officials. (Wishful thinking). Thanks for the information. Vic Wallace

Agreed and thanks for the update Vick!

I can live with original call. But a 5'10" db practically has to leave his feat to go up with a 6'5" receiver who is also leaping to get the ball. Yeah...let's ban defensive jumping....stupid rule... :ohno:
