• Hi Guest,

We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.

A little birdie told me Jared Allen is getting in the Hall of Fame early. Is this weekend the Hall of Fame game? I guess we'll see how much the little birdie knows.

ISU press releases have already confirmed Jared is going into the HOF this year, but won't be honored until November when the Vikings have their bye week.

I couldn't find a press release. I thought a person wasn't eligible until 10 years after graduation.

This release?

The 10-year thing is a strong recommendation, but can be altered in certain rare instances .... this one qualified.

Thanks sid, I thought I was getting some inside information given the 10 year deal.

Thank you Jared Allen

ISU to this point has retired Merril Hoge (33) Ed Bell (42) Mike Machurek (19) and Case deBruijn (3), and then in reality we have Babe Caccia (61) and Tom Jewell (74) retired, but Erik Jacobsen is wearing 74, since we retired those two more for their A.D. accomplishments then athletic football accomplishments.

For most schools, retirement of a number is honorary. There are only so many numbers so most schools are still forced to use those numbers. I think ISU still uses some of them but Frank can shed light on that.

We use them in practice but not in games, since I refuse to let any coach use double numbers. Hence when #3 Jake Lammers dressed out earlier this year, he wore #12.
