Herosports had a good podcast that talked about this issue this week. They stated that a P5 school won't take a FCS coach as a head coach even if they really like him. They speculated that this is mostly due to backlash from the boosters. I think that is why we see moves like the JMU coach taking the E. Carolina job. To me, that seems like an equal if not slight worse job to JMU, but going to a G5 school is also a necessary step to getting to a P5 head coaching position. I'm sure it pays better also.
It's been very quite out of Logan this week. My gut tells me they are waiting for Weber to be done with its playoff run and using a national search as a convenient excuse. Honestly, they would be stupid not to hire him. I don't want to see coach Hill go, but I do want to see him be successful.
