Jerry Glanville resigns

For those of us that saw ISU's big win over Portland State on Saturday night, it was great to see us avoid a winless season and it did a lot for the morale of the coaches and players. But unfortunately, for Portland State, it was Jerry Glanville's last game as PSU coach. Glanville resigned today, and he had one year left on a four-year contract paying $180,000 per year. Potential successor's to the PSU job include Robin Pflugrad, who's an assistant at Montana, Kevin Strasser of the Edmonton Eskimos of the CFL, and Jaime HIll, who's the d-coordinator at BYU -- and several others.

Personally, I don't think that Glanville should have resigned with a year left on his contract. I think he should have had PSU buy him out for the remainder of the deal, or he should have just remained as their coach for another year if they didn't have the money to buy him out. Here's a link to the story:

Elvis has definitely left the building. ;)

It will be interesting to see who replaces him. In the next three-four weeks, the coaching carousel gets going.
