In what capacity would you like to see Joe Glenn return to UNC? As an Athletic Director or head coach of the football team? I would actually like to see him as the AD. He's great with the community (something Jay is NOT) and still loves UNC and Greeley. His assistant coaches that he won with are spattered around the country and I'm not sure he wins without those guys.

Stop it. Just stop it. Joe Glenn is retired from coaching, he's happily doing TV, and there is no chance in hell of him coming back to UNC in any official capacity. Let it go.

You don't think he would be up for the AD job? I think it would be fantastic.

It's not unheard of these older guys come in as a figure head and work more in a PR capacity.

Vince Dooley at Georgia comes to mind.

"I do know that the athletic director thing doesn't appeal to me. I've had several calls from schools that I've been a part of in the past, and they have hinted they might be interested at some point, but I haven't pursued that at all. That isn't who I am, in my mind anyway or in my heart."

What about Marty English??

He's making more money as a DC in Wyo. I would love to see it happen, but I doubt he would take the pay decrease.

What about Peterson? He probably was making more money at CSU just recruiting then he is now at UNC, maybe I don't know. I think we'll have to stick to the D2 ranks, find somebody that was successful at that level, and wants to pretty up their resume.

I'm not sure about Joe Glenn, but what about Marty English? Wyoming is struggling defensively this year and he might be out of a job. He's an excellent recruiter.

I'd take a robot at this point, how about a cadaver? It would show more emotion on the sidelines while you give up 2 touchdowns and turn the ball over twice in the last 7 minutes and lose and then have the unadulterated audacity to go on the post game show and act like you won because the guys played hard...

It was four years ago we'd lose on a hail mary and act like we were decent because we played them close.

This program has not improved in four years under the leadership of the current head coach!

No wonder this program is a laughing stock.

Yeah I'm sure people were hoping I'd go away, the guy that says what other people won't... I have standards, I won't accept excuses week after week, year after year ad infinitum.

Downing needs to go on Monday, he is a loser and today was another nail in the coffin, that makes what, 40 some nails in 4.5 seasons of futility.

Go to the RMAC and get someone that knows how to be a head coach and win, not some loser that takes it in the backside everyweek and talks about the players trying hard.

Mark Mangino. The man can flat out coach, and he would probably listen to a situation that would not be as high pressure as the one at KU was...There are too many good football coaches out of the game right now to focus on Joe Glenn, or even Bo Pelinis special teams guy...

I don't think Joe Glenn will be coming to UNC. The Broncos and the Cowboys have made him offers.

It's obvious that those donkey coaching staffs don't have a clue what they're doing..
I mean those teams have lost alot and badly this year. Those coaching staffs should be fired and replaced immediately. It has nothing to do with the players- it's the coaches.
Fire them all and hire Joe Glenn.

Sorry UNC fans- up with the Cowboys or the Broncos..

I see what you're trying to do here...for argument's sake, let's compare the records of Scott Downing, Josh McDaniels and Wade Phillips with their current teams:

Downing: 8-45 (.151)
McDaniels: 10-13 (.434)
Phillips: 34-20 (.630)

Putting those two in the same class as Downing makes you look like an idiot. As if defending Downing by itself didn't do so already.

BTW- Wade Phillips is 82-59..
Call me an idiot- don't care. But there are a few things I know..
1. The sun always comes up
2. Joe Glenn isn't coming back
3. There are some donkeys on this site..

Where did you get that info?

Beardown- it was a joke/ sarcasm...
Every week we have to hear about how everyone should be fired and Joe Glenn brought back.

Granted I haven't watched this program as long as some of you guys. 3 years for me.

3 years ago this team wasn't very good. Complete mis-match most weekends.
Now, I know there are many that dis-agree but- this team is in the game each and every week for the most part. (All teams have bad weeks.. 3 weeks ago- the Saints lost to the Cardinals.)

But to say this program hasn't gotten better is completely ridiculous.

Am I a Downing fan? Cannot say that. But I do respect the time and commitment he puts into the program.

This program is finally a program. A new coach would set back the ground that has been gained for years.
Starting over doesn't make alot of sense to me. Keep building- keep getting better- recruit better- see what these new coaches can do..

But every week read about Joe Glenn... Come on- move on already..
