Juwan Williams is GONE

Dang, we should be having him playing 3rd back up PF instead of Baker, two additional inches plus extra hops would help some. Good luck Juwan.

Don't look now, but the other player we lost from this class is averaging 11 pts pg as a Freshman.

Who?

Jefferson is at a community college and I hope he is having a good year and Nzekwesi, who we really wanted, but due to visa issues couldn't get, is at Oral Roberts. Oral Roberts has people willing to do what was necessary to get Nzekwesi eligible. Weber...well, we are the fourth most important school to some and the 5 or even 6th to others in our congressional delegation. They didn't care.

Too bad for Juwan. I appreciate all of his hard work and good luck to him going forward.

Everyone raves about Randy as a recruiter but sometimes we miss on the entire class. So from that recruiting class that was loaded with potential bigs:
Jordan Dallas - Development has been extremely slow, but hopefully he is turning the corner and able to play decent minutes.
Juwan Williams - Originally Red shirted, then red shirt was pulled to log limited minutes. Seriously injured, then redshirted and then left the team.
Emanuel Nzekwesi - Could not become eligible due to VISA issues, is released from Weber and ORU is able to get him cleared.
Kiko Starvev - Brought in after Emanuel was not eligible. Has been seriously injured twice.

Is it bad luck or is it something else? It seams like that PF spot is cursed.

Nzekwesi was the top player from that class. I'm not 100% sure that ORU has gotten him fully cleared and might be committing NCAA infractions by allowing him to play. However, most likely they have. Heard he is a member of the Dutch National Program. By being a part of that program he had to go to Amsterdam. By traveling to the Netherlands, that might have been enough to get him cleared. During his time there, he could have gotten his visa issues worked out. Regardless, he is having a hell of a year for the Orals. Last I checked he was averaging 11 and 9. I don't blame Randy for losing Nzekwesi. I blame ORRIN HATCH and MIKE LEE. You better believe if he was going to BYU or UTAH there wouldn't have been any issues.

Jordan Dallas is making progress. I think he is getting better. His defense is spotty, but he is good on the offensive side of the ball. The defensive issues might have something to do with his size. He needs another 20/30 lbs, that will come. What is nice to know is that if he does progress to a certain point, it will allow Randy to play Brekkot at the 3. No matter, Jordan might only ever be a role player. The Czech kid is good enough to play right now.

Kiko...poor guy. He has just had bad luck. He had made some great progress from last year but then his ACL went and that might be it for him. I feel for him. Juwan leaving might have saved his spot.

Juwan Williams isn't a PF. He is a wing. SO...playing him at the 4 after burning his red shirt wasn't the smartest thing to do, but once Kiko got injured, Randy needed the depth. No matter, I think he had quite a bit of athletic potential and wish him all the best. To bad...we will never get a chance to see how good he really is.

Juwan might have been a little too much like Gelaun and Franklin. Randy doesn't like that type of attitude.

“He felt like there’s some things at home that he needed to be home for, some personal things. I fully support him,” Rahe said. “I hope that everything works out for him and I told him that we’re here to help him no matter what happens.”

Williams was unavailable for an interview and no further details of his departure are available. Rahe confirmed that Williams will not return to the team.
