predict the score of the KU game.

Jayhawks - 50 something

UNC - 10

I'm looking forward to the San Diego game. I just want to walk away without any major injuries, a big paycheck and a respectable performance from our Bears.

Kansas - 62
UNC - 6

I am just not sure where our points are going to come from this season.

The only thing Downing has showed me is that his mouth moves.

That's a stupid post.

Anyways, does anyone know if Jackson's will be showing the game? I am heading up to Laramie to watch the Cowboys lose to Weber and than head home. I was going to stop by Jackson's though if they're showing it.

Oh sorry, my bad. I should have said Downing's a great coach, has accomplished great things, has instilled a sense of pride in our team, alumni and the Greeley community. We have every reason to think he will make us proud this season. In fact, we have a chance of beating Kansas!

I dont know what you guys have been smoking, but I'll go out on a limb, give Kansas a boatload of TD's, a few field goals and a shut out - Kansas 75- UNC 0. The first team will be pulled by half-time. I can only hope we dont lose B-wag or some other key position to injury.

Ya I'm gonna say that Kansas puts a MINIMUM of 60 points on the board, just hope we don't have any major injuries. I'm looking forward to the home opener against San Diego.

I think a lot of the blame for the last three seasons goes to the old coaching staff. They left the cupboard so bare that Downing basically had to start from scratch. From stories I've heard, the old crew was pretty clueless about evaluating talent. It will be interesting to see how Downing does with some experience on the team this season.

This season will go a long way towards figuring out what went wrong. If downing is able to string together 4 or 5 wins this season it would be a nice step in the right direction. That being said, I think it's unrealistic to think any UNC team could compete with Kansas.

Hell, their luxery box probably cost more than all of Nottingham field:

Heres my take on this: Joe Glen leaves, taking a chunk of staff with him. Kay Dalton takes over. He patches his staff back together, then gets hit with the transition. He gets stuck with Heinrichs who has no experiance as an athletic A>D (ie dealing with coaches/players) and then gets canned. He wasnt a great head coach, he was out of his element of being OC. He left alot of "betweener athletes", some D2 some like Chesla or Sarmento were able to do well in AA. Downing signs in and over the first year and a half loses 40 or 50 players. What ever their reasons for leaving, the thing is Downing replaced them himself. Now 3 wins later, we are still trying to pin the old staff. Time for Downing to take a man pill and take ownership of his wins and loses. Is he a great recruiter? The wins and loses will determine that.
His staff being so inexperianced? Point that arrow up in the main office, where Downing gets no support.
Lets see what this season brings

I am hoping for a close game with no more than 21 pts difference. We should gain some respect with a good showing at this game and give our players some confidence going into the season. Kansas will not be taking us serious and we might just surprize them a bit.

The game is sold out!

"This marks the first time in history that a Jayhawk season home opener was sold out at least 48 hours prior to kickoff."

Wow, I didn't know we were such a big draw.

It was odd, on DirecTV you can hit the red button on the romote and see live scores of games going on. I went to the college football section and they had the top 25 teams and listed was Norther Colorado @ #25 Kansas. Kind of threw me off.

That's not how they operate. A Mark Mangino team is always prepared. They will be focused on UNC. FYI, I'm a KU season ticket holder, so I'll be there tomorrow, but my wife is on the faculty at UNC so I've become a Bears fan as well (hence the handle bearhawk). I'll be wearing a UNC shirt under my KU gear.

I'll go 63-10 KU. I don't see how UNC contains Reesing and the offense and the KU defense is a lot better than they are given credit for.

Bearhwak, looks like you will have nice fall weather for the game, have a good time.

I just hope UNC can keep it somewhat competitive through the 1st half. I would take 24-3 for a halftime score. I mean really, KU is a top 25 team that will be battling for a Big 12 title. We are a team that won 1 game the last 2 seasons and is trying to figure out Big Sky football. I hope all the players from both sides stay healthy and that the sold out crowd has a good time. Anyone but Nebraska in the Big XII.

28-0 halftime Kansas leads. We looked OK in the first half and had an opportunity to put points on the board and of course stupid York misses the easy field goal.
