KEEP JODY SEARS!!

Waldo said:
It was on Thursday at about 11 40 am.
So people call you out on your lie and now all of a sudden you change the story? I have ran into the REAL Jody Sears (WSU Head Football Coach) countless times in the community and he has always been very engaging and very upbeat and positive. So clearly you had the wrong guy, just admit it.

Kinda funny that he was wearing Wisconsin garb too. He was raised in Pullman, attended Washington St, and coached for Washington St. He's a Washington State fan through and through. He has ties to the state of Iowa from Grad school and after. But that is about the closest we get to Wisconsin. I don't know who it could have been. But I am pretty sure it wasn't Jody Sears.

Take Notice--- :shocking:

The title of this blog is KEEP JODY SEARS!! It ain't happening dudes…

Mark my words; Sears will be fired shortly after the Idaho State game. Yes, and it doesn't matter whether Weber wins or loses or how well or poor they play. It will happen!

He deserves it… he earned it by not showing any marked improvement from the first to the last game.

You can take it to the bank!

So do you have any sources to back any of this up or are you just stirring the pot? :stir:

baller is most likely a Montana troll. He is obviously talking out of his buttocks. I don't believe that we are going to do what our cousins to the north did with their football coaches for 15 to 20 years. When they finally decided to keep one for more than two years, they lost him to a bigger program.

Jody may, or may not, keep his job for the long term, but he won't be losing it this year. If that did happen, I would be totally shocked. baller needs to either put up some proof, other than his wild arsed opinion, or shut up. :tothehand:

You can call them wild arse opinions if you choose to. :dunce: I am not at liberty to state my sources but I assure you that I know what I'm talking about. A Montana troll… I have been a Weber fan for longer than most of you have been alive! And, oh by the way, runner you ain't nearly as informed as you pretend to be. In the end I'll have the last laugh when the announcement comes.

I love when people use this line of "I have been a fan longer than..." give me a break buddy
Also no sources = purely a guess
And if you think someone getting fired is a laughing matter than you are one sick pudd. :finger:

Why not, our football team this year is a joke...
This may be a small snapshot of what is wrong with America today. A guy with a wife and kids getting fired should never be funny. :ohno:

Hey Waterboy, I agree with you. If I were laughing at Sears getting fired I would be a sick pudd! As a person, a family man and a man of character I love Jody Sears. We have never had better in this regard at Weber. Just so you know my laughing was me having the last laugh on those of you who say I don't know of which I speak.
I also agree with you that if I had no sources my declaration would be a WAG! Time will show you however, that my declaration is accurate and time will prove that it came from good sources. Waterboy, what kind of break would you like from me? Exactly what is it you love about someone stating how long they have been a fan of Weber? A pure guess on my part that you are less than 46 years old. If my guess is correct, my statement about how long I have been a fan could be accurately applied to you. Lastly, go back and take a look at the blogs here regarding the hiring of John L. Smith. I was the person who declared that he would be hired well before it was announced and long before anyone else on this blog knew about it. That declaration came from good sources also.

Baller;

If what you say is true, that you heard directly from the AD that Jody will be fired, and you are spewing confidential information on this forum, it disgusts me even more. Why would you betray a confidence like that? I don't believe that the AD gave you that information and the AD is the one who would have this information, if it were to be true. I think that you got some second hand information and that information had been misinterpreted in the first place. It sounds more like an urban legend than fact.

I have never said that I know anything, unless I truly do know it, and I am not betraying a confidence. If I get inside information, I don't discuss it here until it is public knowledge. If it turns out that you are right, then you should really be ashamed of yourself.

Old Runner, are you absolutely sure that you are correctly informed that the AD would be the only person who knows this or is it just a WAG on your part?
I can assure you that I have betrayed no confidences and I never will… I appreciate your opinion on this matter and agree with you wholeheartedly.
I speak out on this forum only when I have something meaningful and accurate to say. So, on that note I am putting an end to my participation in this blog until, when and if, I have something well-founded and meaningful to say...

Yes, baller. There would probably be three people who will know something like that prior to it being released to the public, the President, the AD, and the coach. Other than coming from one of them, someone is just blowing smoke at you. All of those people have great integrity and would not be talking with anyone outside of themselves until it was being made public. That is why I believe that the rumor mill is so unreliable and dangerous to those closely involved. I choose not to believe things like that. If it happens, it happens, but I don't think it will. At least, it doesn't make sense to me at this juncture.

'Baller' take the last laugh...your source was right. Hope that the search comes up with better luck this time around!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :shocking:

Man, were you wrong on so many levels. And what has USU, or as you call us, your cousins to the north, have to do with this? As someone who thinks that most of what you posts makes sense, let me say this. Anyone who pays attention to college athletics knows that a good coach can take over a losing, bad program, and by the end of the second year, the program is showing signs of turning around. The problem at USU wasn't that coaches were fired too soon. The problem was that coaches were hired who shouldn't have been hired. Like your ex head coach Sears was hired at Weber State. Arslanian, Dennehy, Guy, Pella, Shelton. None on them should have been hired at USU. It was an old boys club in Logan imposing their influence on the program that kept USU football down for so long, as much as the conference problems. As soon as an intelligent, young, experienced, ambitious head coach, Andersen, was hired, look what happened.

But really, keep us out of your problems. We have nothing to do with them other than we hired one of your ex head coaches who turned out to be unqualified to coach at any level above that of FCS.

You are right George. It was hard for USU to dig out of the hole they created for themselves and it will be hard for us to dig out as well. I just didn't want to see us continuing to dig when we found ourselves in a hole. Just as there was no guarantee that USU would find the right guy, each time they rehired, there is a lot of uncertainty in the process. I recall some of this same debate going on in Aggieland as the musical chairs was being played out. Anderson was a great hire for USU and your new guy seems to be doing a standup job. I'm just hoping that we can learn a little bit from what you guys have already gone through. I didn't think that we truly gave Sears a chance. However, I was not close to the decision makers on this one and had no idea about what had gone on in the background. I do trust the AD and the process. I do agree with your conclusion about the need to have coaching abilities at or above the level of your program. I'm hoping to not repeat some of the mistakes that both programs have made in the past. :coffee:
