PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland State's Kelly Marchant has been named the Big Sky Conference Player of the Week for games played the week of November 30-December 7.

A local product from Oregon City High School, Marchant helped the Vikings go 2-0 last week with wins over UC Santa Barbara and Pacific. She averaged 18.5 ppg, 3.0 rpg and 1.0 spg, while shooting 59.1 percent from the field.

On Sunday, in PSU's 75-57 win over Pacific, Marchant poured in a career-high 30 points, which ties for the most points by a Big Sky player this year. She went 10 of 17 from the floor and 7 of 8 from the free-throw line. Marchant also connected three times from beyond the arc, and added six rebounds and one steal.

Marchant scored seven points in 13 minutes of action on Thursday when Portland State downed UCSB, 62-56. She went 3 of 5 from the field and contributed a steal.

This is Marchant's first career player of the week award. A junior guard, she is averaging 12.4 ppg while shooting 38.7 percent from 3-point range and 94.4 percent from the line, both of which lead the team.
