In my opinion, the keys to a W in Provo would be...
1. Solid defensive effort. Weber will, in all likelihood, play a man to man defense for the majority of the game. BYU can play inside and out. There biggest offensive weakeness is their ability to drive. Their strength is their passing. If their outside shots aren't falling they depend enormously on their bigs. Tres, Hajek, Fulton, Mook, and the Mahone need to bring it. They are a lot bigger than us, but Weber is quicker. Beat them in transition and create TOs.
2. Weber has to play smart. Take good shots, work the offensive schemes, and be patient. The Cats have to play in control. Limit the number of TOs and play clean on the offensive side. Set the pace of the game.
3. Hit open threes. Bull, Bam, and Fulton all missed a number of open looks, that WILL start to fall. I'm hoping this is the game that they do start to fall. Bam can't stay cold forever!! I have a feeling he is going to start connecting on Wednesday.
4. USE our speed!! BYU isn't nearly as quick as the Cats. That is how the Ags beat the Cougars. They used their speed. BYU hasn't played anyone that is as quick and can shoot as well as the Cats. BYU has done fairly well guarding the perimeter against teams that aren't that quick (Oregon is the most talented team they have faced, but not the best team, that is USU. USU isn't as talented as Oregon, but they played team ball.). Weber must use their quickness.
5. Don't let their guards play well. Yes, Hartsock and Davies will get theirs, but Zylstra, and Winder must be held to nothing. Make them play bad.
8-5 isn't an easy situation. I'm hoping for the best.
