Has anyone heard who Kjar is considering to join his staff? We’ve seen a number of coaches from Mickey’s staff announce their departure. But I’ve seen almost nothing on who Kjar is thinking he’ll bring in.

I don’t have access to all the news, so if you know the departures off Mental’s staff, please go ahead and list them. I’m also interested in where Mental ends up. It will be interesting to see what assistants, if any, stay on. If Myers wants to stay on, I would hope he would be retained. Not sure about Jaime Martin as Mental was the OC. I get the feeling that Kjar will either be the OC or have a coach he’s very familiar with be the OC.
I haven’t heard rumors of who Kjar might add. Of course he is probably going through names and interviews right now, but it will be interesting to see the staff take shape, the transfer portal, and the next round of recruitment for players.
Basketball isn’t holding my interest so I’m more excited with the football offseason than I am the basketball season as far as following Weber State.

So far, I’ve seen Coach Daigh and Coach Wright make announcements. Rumor mill is saying Myers was not retained either.

Rumor is that Cowser and Dale are being retained. Kjar is looking for a new DC though. I was hoping Benjamin and Myers would also be retained. However, I heard that Myers was leaving.

We’re absolutely screwed if he doesn’t get an assistant with DI experience.

I’d like to see Cowser stay. I wish Coach Wright and Coach Myers had been retained too, though.

I can understand why Myers would want to leave as he got passed over twice. He should’ve taken over for Hill when the decision was made to hire from the staff. Now it was almost impossible to stick with a staff hire given the swift decline under Mental.
Given his years in the program, I was hoping he would be the mentor figure on the staff. If he does leave, wish him nothing but the best.
I saw four more commitments from in-state from the story in the Standard. Looks like Kjar already has a plan of what he wants. I am of the opinion that local recruiting will be key for success. I think that was lost along the way and has been one of the reasons for the decline.
It will be interesting to see how it unfolds.

I'm pleased to see Skyler Ridley promoted to associate head coach. I have thought for a long time now that he has been one of the best recruiters on our staff and one of the better football minds. I really like coach Myers and thought he may have been high on their list for the HC job. I also believe that he may have turned out to be a distraction that a new coach wouldn't want. There really needs to be just one voice from the top. That is also why I felt that Mental made a huge mistake in not hiring an OC. It makes the HC seem one sided and not for everyone, equally. I hope that Eric does not make that same mistake.
So far, I feel like Kjar is establishing his organization in the right way. He is making measured changes where needed to have the team function the way he feels will be the most productive. We needed changes and we are getting them.

The post does not say Ridley is an associate HC, as some have said, but an assistant HC. Don't know if that's the same thing though.
From what I've heard about how things went this season, I'm not at all surprised the newer coaches on the staff, particularly those who played at Weber, aren't being retained.
