Weber State men's basketball senior forward Kyle Bullinger has been selected as a candidate for the 2011-12 Lowe's Senior CLASS Award. He is one of 30 men's basketball seniors in the country selected as a candidate for the award.
Bullinger is the only candidate from a school in the Big Sky Conference or the state of Utah. The Mountain View, Wyo. native has played three seasons for the Weber State men's basketball team and twice helped the Wildcats capture the Big Sky Championship. As a junior last season he earned First Team Big Sky All-Conference honors and averaged 11.2 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. Entering his senior season he has started every game of his career at Weber State and needs just 101 more points to become the 25th player in WSU history with 1,000 career points.
Bullinger has twice earned Big Sky Academic All-Conference honors and is set to graduate next spring with a degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in History and Political Science.
From the list of 30 candidates the field will be narrowed down to 10 finalists midway through the 2011-12 regular season. Those 10 names will be placed on the official ballot and ballots will be distributed through a nationwide voting system to media, Division I men’s coaches and fans who will select one finalist who best exemplifies excellence in the four Cs of community, classroom, character and competition.
Lowe’s, an official Corporate Partner of the NCAA, will announce the men’s Senior CLASS Award winner during the 2012 NCAA Men’s Final Four, which will be held March 31 and April 2 in New Orleans.
An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School®, the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award honors the attributes of senior student-athletes in four areas: community, classroom, character and competition. The award program is designed exclusively for college seniors who are utilizing their complete athletic eligibility, remaining committed to their university and pursuing the many rewards a senior season can bring. The award is sponsored by Lowe's, an official Corporate Partner of the NCAA, and is managed by Premier Sports Management.
