Laboto Debut

I watched Laboto step onto the field within the Georgia Dome with seconds remaining in the 1st quarter. Three straight handoffs and a three and out. Laboto played the entire 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarters. Tannehill played just one series and was flawless.
UNC was mentioned during the broadcast some 50 times............I felt prideful.
Laboto looked confident in the huddle however as the offensive line replacements took over, the run game began to severely struggle which meant Miami would have to open the band width they kept Laboto in. Most of Labotos' passes through the entire 2nd, 3rd and midway through the 4th were short outs or dumps left and right. Laboto having some two week experience with the offense truly looked like an NFL backup!!!
Miami is down 16 to 10 with some 6 minutes left and I thought perhaps I would see Brock Jensen.............Laboto trots onto the field...........
80 yds out with not much on the clock..........Laboto then proceeded to slowly march down field completing ball after ball...........the team even converted a 4th down........Laboto is now on the six yard line ready to punch it in and Miami will take the win.........
Laboto in the shot gun and here comes the snap....he fumbled a perfect snap waist high and Atlanta recovered. As bad as that was.......he played well and his stock went up.......he is truly in the running as a 3rd backup!!!!!!! In the end he got to play in an NFL game while I was just dreaming of playing at his age.......I still have that dream of playing however I always wake up and I'm never on the field.........I get to watch my son play at UNC...........that's plenty for me..............

If you watch the post game press conference, Coach Philbin was asked directly about Seth's play and he stated he thought he did well, was poised and managed the game well. So it appears his stock is up with the HC. Hope to see Seth on the sideline at Mile High on Nov 23rd.

Good for him but the irony of fumbling in crunch time is sort a microcosm of his time here...

That's crazy he got that much playing time. Denver has a 4th QB that I don't think will ever see the field the entire preseason with Osweiler and Dysert needing so many reps.

But even a practice squad slot would be a huge accomplishment. :thumb:

That's what I was thinking too. Seth plays well 95% of the time and then he does something to ruin a win; such as a turnover.

That being said, I'm happy he's on an NFL roster. You're also right in that it wouldn't be horrible if he's delegated to practice squad.

And once more at the end of the day I am in my arm chair playing Quarterback. Seth gets to have one more day in the son playing a child's game. Good for Seth...........Make it or not, he now has a resume any fortune 500 company wants.........he's in the club!! Additionally he is a very well spoken, articulate young man.

Let's all remind our children, should you be fortunate to have them,.......... as my good friend has always told me................Son, You have a lifetime to be ordinary!!

Enough about Laboto.........He's in great shape no matter what happens.......

Now it's off to UNLV
