Larry Weir on KJR

It's being reported like it's cancelled. But, sounds like they are looking at a spring conference only season...and maybe some kindof fall non-con possibilities. Not sure what that all means.

Right, It seems the news of cancelation was a little premature. It is going to be interesting to see what comes about tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up on the broadcast.

Fast forward to the 30 min. Mark

So be it. Given the cost of repeatedly testing athletes for Covid, it probably would have been a financial nightmare to proceed with football as-is. This effectively ends any hope of FCS playoffs in 2020, so the FCS as a whole either needs to move to Spring football, or it'll just be a broken season. Hopefully, the FCS just moves as a unit to the Spring.

Well more than 2/3 of conference Presidents voted to not play this Fall...surprised it wasn't more(imagine UM and MSU still wanted to so wonder who else voted to play?) Maybe our outgoing President voted to play just for the fun of it...joke. Lose $750k not playing Florida..imagine thats before costs of going there? Think Larry said with no fans in the stands we lose another 1.5 million(not to mention the 2 million athletic budget cuts)? Larry mentioned we can get some of that money back if 8 games in Spring with 4 home games. Think UM lose 4.5 million at the gate and another 2.5 million to city economic coffers. They were going to play Missouri State OOC. Most BSC teams need money games some have played a couple in a season to help out $$ matters...oh well can't get much worse. Guess it could.. I'm in quarantine.

It might have ended up being more with both Montana schools coming here plus Idaho we had a sweet schedule for home opponents coming here for attendance. Hope things just get pushed to the spring with same schedule.
