OGDEN, Utah — Sacramento State sophomore linebacker Todd Davis was named the Big Sky Conference Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced today. The honor is the first for Davis in his career.
In the team's 14-0 win at Northern Colorado, Davis tied for the team lead with 10 total tackles. The Palmdale, Calif., native also led the team with 2.5 tackles-for-loss and forced two fumbles. His efforts helped the Hornet defense limit the Bears to 0.9 yards per rush on 49 attempts and just 72 total yards of offense. The shutout was the first for Sacramento State since a 30-0 win against San Francisco State on Sept. 10, 1994.
On the season, Davis ranks second on the team with 55 total tackles and is also second with 3.5 tackles-for-loss.
