Lobato to Colts

That really stuns me. The only thing our qb's seemed to specialize in lately were interceptions returned for touchdowns.

Lobato has all the tools to be an NFL QB. He trusts his arm too much and I think that's why he had so many picks. With the right coaching that can be fixed.

I believe Jace Davis signed a f.a. contract too, but I don't know the team. Jaces's biggest challenge is his attitude and staying out of trouble. Remember, he was suspended for the last 4 or 5 games last season.

It does alarm me that we had an NFL caliber QB on the team (or at least close to NFL caliber) and this was the best we could do with it.

True, but an NFL caliber arm and size does not necessarily translate to NFL caliber play or decision making and that is where he struggled, especially last season. Of course it didn't help that the OL rarely gave him enough time to make the play.

On another note- 19 FCS players were drafted this year. Five of Miami's eight picks were FCS players. Haven't seen the numbers on UDFAs yet.

This sounds familiar. From one of the Indianapolis area papers after the first day of camp-

INDIANAPOLIS — Qua Cox was the star of the first day of the Indianapolis Colts' rookie mini-camp, deftly stepping in front of a pass from quarterback Seth Lobato and racing into the end zone.

On a more positive note. This is from the Colts website after the 3rd day of rookie mini camp-

Two highlight moments were long completions from QB-Seth Lobato to WR-Tony Washington

Whether you loved the way he played or not, it would be great to see Seth make at least the practice squad for the Colts. Great for Seth and great for the Bears.

What?! Are you telling me that Lobato is prone to pick 6s? I don't think I believe you!!!!

Congrats to Seth! I will be pulling for him to hang on and turn this into something more than just being a "camp arm"

Nice video of Seth's highlights playing for the Bears on the one of the Dolphins news sites. Too bad we didn't have some defense and a running game to go with the offense back then.

Yeah but let's not kid ourselves the guy had many chances to do something special in crunch time and win games and never did (just watch the CSU Pueblo tape a DII none the less). Yes, of course the team around him sucked, but he never raised the ship so to speak. He has the physical skills but was never a difference maker which is what it takes to actually make it in the NFL rather than getting cut in the first round of cuts...

Moore and Devlin the backups to Tannehill at Miami have gone down. The Dolphins have just resigned Brock Jensen from NDSU. Seth Laboto will be backing up Tannehill in this Fridays preseason game against the Falcons unless one of the backups recovers quickly. Shoulder issue and foot issue.
This will be interesting.........Tannehill is only expected to play the first two series.

Preseason game or not, I wish the best of luck to Seth and hope he shines on the big stage.

Good luck to both of the former Bears Lobato, and Davis suiting up for their first NFL game preseason, or not :notworthy: I wish them much success! Go Bears :thumb:
