Local TV Sports News is Pathetic

After the headlines on Monday were all about Weber being ranked 2nd in the nation and having the conference POW in Bronson Barron, while also mentioning SUU and Dixie's Football games, on Tuesday the top stories, I'm assuming fed to them by the UUs and BYUs, were about the UUs having a schedule 6 months from now and the BYUs having a player that plans to try reral hard 6 months from now. I'm not sure that I totally blame the news. After all it was the UUs and BYUs that felt left out and had to release that sort of drivel.

Oh it’s terrible. I remember when Gordon Monson decided to write an article on Weber State basketball one of the years they went to the NCAA tournament and threw out the claim that they had struggled with attendance. I pointed out on a comment that they were #1 in the conference by a ways, averaged in around the top 1/3 of MWC and were better than half the PAC-12 schools. This was a fact easy to look up and verify in like 2-3 minutes.

Heaven help them, they can’t get out of their BYU or U of U bubble. FCS playoff system makes the FBS system look like the dog and pony show it is. It’s so refreshing to see a championship won on the field.

It’s going to be a long time until the 13th, that first game definitely has me excited for the next game.
