Obviously he will not be joining the team this year but does anyone know what happened to him or why he left? Couldnt find anything on him or if he transfered

Logan was a walk on. Usually, walk ons stay one year and participate as a red shirt. At the end of that year a decision must be made to transfer or stay. If the decision is transfer, the coaches will help the player find a good fit for their skill level. If the decision is to stay, then a second decision needs to be made by the coaches. They need to decide if the player has earned a scholarship or will be a walk on for one more year. If the decision is to stay as a walk on for one more year, I believe that year is it for them, unless they are put on scholarship.

With all of that said, Logan is either still in school, but not playing, or had left WSU. I have not heard anything about where he might have landed.

Logan was asked to leave the team before the conference season last year, because he broke team rules. I'm not sure, but I think you might have that rule wrong Olds. Maybe compliance can clear it up for us. But I was under the impression that players can walk on all four years if they'd like to. Most players elect to leave before then, because they want to play. If you aren't playing, why would you want to stay if you can play somewhere else?

Walk-ons can be walk-ons for up to five years, since that's the Division I eligibility period (assuming the coaching staff wants them around for that long). We have that happen in our sports all the time.

As for the reason Logan is no longer a Wildcat, I would strongly encourage the posters here to not speculate on reasons that someone left as it's unfair to the student-athlete when people post things that aren't true.

Damn Tal, you got served

I agree that a walk on can be a walk on for 5 years of eligibility, just like anyone else. However, there was a point in time where the NCAA made you count them as if they were on a scholarship, after one year of playing. They did that because the big schools were stockpiling talent as walk ons, getting them high paying jobs and then never playing them. They never planned to play them, they just wanted to not play against them. It's one of the ways that the Wizzard of Westwood got all of those championships. It may well be less of an issue today. :coffee:

I talked to Logan a couple times, and attended a couple practices. Pretty decent player, had some things to improve on of course but not too bad.I liked him a lot great personality. I talked to him maybe a week or so before he transferred he never got kicked off the team or any of that he elected to leave, coach Rahe was high on him if i can remember, he played in a couple of games. He felt as if he could contribute and get minutes at another D1. I believe hes at LA Trade Tech one of the premier jc's in cali. Also made it to the elite 80 juco camp in vegas this summer. We may want to be on the look out.

Not trying to post inaccuracies or to speculate. Just stating what I heard one of the coaches say at a coaches luncheon. Why else would a player leave so suddenly? Besides, this is a fan forum. Gossip is a major part of what happens on here. Compliance just be happy we aren't like Grizz fans. By the way, how are those going? The luncheon's? I haven't been able to attend. Are they still pretty good, or are they mostly athletic staff? I wish they were closer to campus and not as formal, but I'm just happy they still happen.

wow. i cant believe one of the coaches would make that up and slander a player....and a walkon to make it worse. im sure others on here can back you up since many on here go to the lunches. i sure miss going to them. i would attend them all if it was possible. 4 miles away isnt too far for me to drive. :wall:

there is only one weber basketball coach that i have ever seen attend the lunches. surely you didnt get your info about a walkon from a non bball coach. that would seem unlikely they had even heard of said walkon player. please dont say this info came from rahe that isnt "accurate". :bad: disrespecting the wizard be fight words, son.

I'm just trying to figure out WHY IN THE EPH is there a thread talking about Lolgan Foster. Good hell this is stoopid, the season can't get here soon enough so then there will be real topics on this fan board.
Im also slightly offended that nobody has brought up a Matt Emadi, Chris Thomas, or Danko thread.

You might be really fat, but you are often correct. Stupid thread award right here.
