losing

I am so sick of watching this team lose. This was a winnable game. And its not about the kids.I see a lot of talent. What i don't see is leadership and I mean from the top: NO AD in place. Sorry Ernest but I dont think you are the one that can turn this program around. Yes I am speaking from a fans perspective but I am just sick of what I am seeing. And you naysayers that think we don't belong are wrong! And its not all about the money. And its not about supporting the team ( I support a lot and I know a lot of other fans on this board do also). Its about leadership which we are truly lacking. Come on Mr. Monfort, its time you grabbed the bull by the horns and took control. This is totally unacceptable !! :pissed:

I hear you man. I think who they hire for an A.D. is going to be very important. Collins better step up his game because he no longer has the A.D. that hired him. They need to get an A.D. who will reenergize the fan base. Get something going with new facilities, better student organizations, etc. I'm afraid homecoming next week will see rockbottom attendance.

I was watching the NAU/South Dakota game and saw Joe Glenn on the side lines. Any possibility of waiting until December and hiring him as the new A.D. That would be awesome! He's said he's not the A.D. type, but who knows? I'm probably dreaming but oh well.

I thought that the Bears gave the fans a respectable performance for a Division II team. FCS team like UNI are tough to beat, even at home. Once we get into the conference schedule, playing other DII teams like Southern Utah and Idaho State we will have a much better chance of winning. We will have a few weeks before we have to play a real football team like Montana State. At least we did not throw a Pick 6 today! Baby steps...

It's going to be a loooong rest of the season. I will continue to show up each Saturday, at the field or in front of the radio, and support the team but I don't see this team being anywhere near .500 at the end of the year. I hope I'm wrong...

Rack another L in the column. I can't wait for hoops season. Do we have a good team coming back?

Women's team will be competitive and finish towards the top of the conference but I think the men's team will really struggle this year.

What happened? I was watching and they were up 7-3, left my house, checked the score and it was 17-7 in a matter of a few minutes. Poor coaching again? Or just poor everything?

Edit:

Just read the article on unc's website. What's up with giving up 2 tds right before half, they did the same shit in the csu-pueblo game. No excuse for that other than poor coaching.

How do the worst athletes on the team get so much PT? How does the running back lead the stat line in receiving yards? I'm sure the qb coach would say its because we're playing our 5th year senior back up. I know a few high schoolers that can flip that rock to a playmaker so we can actually score points in a point scoring contest. Not to sure that offensive diva coordinator grasps that even after all those L's. Let's get those better players on the field coach so you can "fix it".

I put the blame on L with the offensive line. They were horrible. 4 QB sacks, penalties, false-starts, zero holes for the running backs. They were pathetic.

I like how coach collins says they lost the game because they aren't play as a team. I wonder why that is?? Coaching?? I thought that was the coaches job to get the team on the same page, and put the players in the best position to win the game. The next 3 games are very winnable, as was this game, but if I'm not seeing Ws in the next 3 games, Collins needs to go or he needs to make some changes to his coaching staff.

There are some talented transfers coming in. Don't count them out before they've even played a game.

Probably the most intelligent thing said on this board in a while.

There is a bright side to the losing we have had to watch these past few games. If you consider that we are playing some very good teams and not getting blown out too bad by them it does make for some positive thoughts. The 4 teams that beat us so far have a combined record of 15 and 3. The 3 games that these teams lost were to very good BCS teams. I have a feeling that we are not all that bad and will start showing some better results when we match up with some of the other teams. It is too early to jump ship and rule out any wins for this team. I hope they get things together for this weeks game and start putting some W's in the win loss column.

Hold on, so winning against good teams isn't the priority, but playing 4 weeks of tough, close football is justifiable? Why am I not surprised!? So it's safe to say that as long as we beat those teams that are down everything is acceptable!? Lets just be happy about the wins we should win and call it a day!

Ill pass! As will my contributions.

Chalk up another loss against an average Hornet team. Why should we care if the players and coaches don't?

I'm counting down the days until basketball season.

There has been zero improvement since Downer was here. Yes I know know they talk big but they were just as crappy 5 years ago.

Agreed. It's amazing how it seems like every team we play is better than us. It's not like the season where we seemed to have heart breaking loss after heartbreaking loss under Downing. Now we seem to just get spanked week in and week out.

It can't be just the players and it can't be just the coaches. Those stupid personal fouls just kill us. To me, that's on the players. How hard is it not to hit someone after the play is over?

Where do I start with this one? Faking the field goal for one, jeezuz just get the points. AGAIN giving up points right before the half, WTF?? The defense getting absolutely shredded ALL game long. The offensive play calling?? ZERO running game, but lets keep trying to run the ball.

Again preparation, what does this staff do all week? The fact that the D got shredded, shows no game planning. Offensive play calling seems to get worse each week. Call a couple running plays get an inch, and put your team in 3rd and long. Makes no sense. You had success throwing the ball, I would've just kept throwing.

If UNC looks like shit next weekend again a bad Idaho St team, and loses. I say pull a USC and fire Collins right as he gets back into Greeley.

I was hoping they did that this morning when they got back into town.
