Maybe just USU was... :blah:

Why come to Weber?

1. Rahe....THE WIZARD
2. Playing with Lillard
3. The Dee
4. 4 year starter
5. He has the potential of becoming one of the most prolific Bigs in Weber State and Big Sky history

USU Hoops: Jordan Loveridge eliminates the Aggies

For Jordan Loveridge, it all comes down to relationships. And conference affiliation.
For those two reasons, Utah State didn't make the top four in the chase of Loveridge, the highest rated recruit in Utah's high school class of 2012.
Arizona, BYU, Utah and Weber State are the four schools who made the cut. And not even the prospect of playing with David Collette, Marcel Davis and Quincy Bair, his AAU buddies, were enough to save the Aggies.
"We just didn't have the connection with the Utah State coaches that we did with the other schools," said Bill Loveridge when contacted by the Tribune.
"It was nothing bad about Utah State, but the relationship with the coaches wasn't there, and the WAC isn't what it used to be."
Loveridge visited the Aggies unofficially this summer, a good visit.
He called Utah State assistant Chris Jones with the bad news this morning.
Now, the Aggies move on. USU will try to fill the scholarship that Loveridge would've taken up. They have offers out to a pair of high school power forwards, although who is unknown at this point.
Plus, with Kyisean Reed, Ben Clifford and Collette being ready to play in three years, the Aggies seem to have a bit of talent and depth at that position in the years to come.

Jordan Loveridge narrowed his schools down to four today:

WEBER STATE

BYU

Where you at TONY JONES!!

Will someone please go call this idiot out on the SL tribune comments? I don't have an account but his stupidity must be publicized. We don't have him yet, and may not get him at Weber, but we're not inferior to the teams in the State of Utah. Period. Also, SL tribune bring back the Weber tab.

Love that Loveridge is weary of the crumbling WAC. This kid is a beast, I really hope he realizes that we've been with him since the beginning, and that he can become a legend here. We could make some noise in March with Lillard, Bamforth, Wheelwright, Tresnak, Fulton AND Loveridge next year

All the USU fans are butt-hurt:

"Go let him be a bench warmer at Arizona."
"Maybe he was scared to compete with our current 3s/4s."
"If he goes to BYU, I hope he enjoys standing in the paint with his arms raised, watching 3 pointers whizz over his head."
"He'll be paraded around Salt Lake if he goes to Utah...they've been looking for a savior. Too bad Utah is a Pac-12 team with Big Sky talent."

he's a prized recruit no matter who gets him. he doesn't suck if he doesnt come to weber. i hope he goes to AZ if not weber.

Wow!! Serious?!? Amazing!

Not that this means that Loveridge is coming to Weber or anything, but it is a sign of the hard work and effort Rahe and Co. has spent on this kid. I'm excited. I'm pretty sure this means he is going to be coming here on an official visit.

My 1st wish = that he picks Weber
My 2nd wish = that he picks anyone but USU
My 3rd wish = if he doesn't choose Weber, he goes out of state

2nd wish granted!

If it's not Weber, I'm pulling for Zona, obviously. This kid seems to be well grounded and has a good support system (family) around him. He'll make the best choice for him and his family.

The Utes remain in the hunt with Weber State, BYU and Arizona, although Arizona has not officially offered. Loveridge has already told Colorado and Utah State, "Thanks, but no thanks."

"A big thing is the Pac-12," Bill Loveridge, Jordan's father, told The Tribune's Tony Jones. "That's a huge deal for us. And I think he'll have the chance to play and have an immediate impact up there."

Bill Loveridge said Jordan has established a good relationship with Utes assistant Tommy Connor, and that he will make his decision in the next month. BYU has long been considered a logical choice for Loveridge, but he has maintained that there is no favorite.

You're talking to the most anti-twitter person in the world. :hater:

Wow, this is awesome. I know that Weber might not be his ultimate choice but, it always feels good to have the aggies be brought back to Earth. (Too bad it never lasts long.)

From everything I can see, Jordan is a very intellegent, thoughtful and caring person. I think that he will do well, where ever he ends up. Of course, I hope he chooses Weber. The only school on his list, that is questionable, is Utah. They are questionable, only because they have been so poor for the past several years, have a new coaching staff, and are entering a league that will show no mercy. At Utah he might end up a great player, starting, on a team that won't have a winning season for the entire time that he is there. At BYU he will be competing with some other really good players at his position. BYU and Weber are proven comodities that have been winning for many years. I don't know a lot about Arizona, other than the dust storms are bad, but at least they block the sun and get the temps bellow 110. I'm sure that Arizona doesn't want to bring in recruits untill the worst of the heat and dust is over. Jordan may well have made up his mind by then. There is a reason that we have been able to get some really good players out of Arizona lately. :kisswink:

That says a lot about the program and the efforts that Rahe has done to get them in the top 4. Will be interesting to see how it plays out, but it definitely shows Weber can be a player even among the bigger boys, especially when it comes to Utah kids.

This is proof of the strong relationships Rahe and co. create with a recruit. I'm a realist, I know that the chances of actually signing Loveridge, even though Weber is in the top 4, is low. However, it is nice knowing that Weber is being considered.

Still, Loveridge should highly consider coming to Weber. I know that Weber has a far better shot at making the Dance than Utah over the next four years.
