Hornets take their 3 game winning streak on the road to Grand Forks to face UND (5-8, 1-1 BSC) Thursday night. UND has played most of their games on the road but have already claimed a highly desired road BSC victory last week at Montana State.

UND doesn't have a dominant scorer but they have a few guys averaging over 10 ppg and a couple near that mark as well. They are lead by forward Nash (11.1 ppg, 7.1 rpg) who is supported by a trio of guards, Tyler, Hooker, de Rouen, that average 10.5, 9.9, and 8.7 ppg respectively.

The Hornets struggle on the road and this is the longest road trip in BSC play. Both teams are pretty even on paper with the Hornets having the advantage in scoring and shooting percentage on the year. I think the key to this game will be Hornsby. He will need to stay out of foul trouble as he will be responsible for limiting the damage done by Nash. Other than that, if Garrity and McKinney continue on their blaze of terror coupled with solid play inside with Stuteville (will he be available this game due to the ejection against SUU?) and Tiffin then I like the Hornets chances.

That road monkey will have to be shaken eventually and the Hornets will need at least a split on this road trip if they have hopes of contending for a BSC crown.

Best of luck to our Hornets on this road trip that starts half way across the country.

Let's do this Hornets!!

Sac State Pride!!

Alright, here we go....need to establish the ability to win on the road...I think we have the senior leadership to accomplish this...need to get off to a good start or at least be tied after 10 minutes, then after settling in blow North Dakota out of the building...I'm looking for a double figure win...GO HORNETS!!!!!

Got off to a slow start but closed out the half pretty good and lead by 4. Need to clean up the turnovers and get off to a better start this half and we can take this game.

63-61 Hornets win!!!! Mills got 17pts 5reb 3a and 3st.....everyone of them was needed. Demps got a couple late hoops after being shut out for 38 mins.....Mikh didn't have his usual game but when the game was on the line he waited until there was 13 left and went to the right side of the lane for one of his twisting off the back board shots that went in for the win. The Hornets played pretty well over all and got the needed road win. Now they need to build on this win with another win in Greeley. Great performance....keep it up!!!

Nice win - congrats Hornets!!

Glad to see the team get the win on their first BSC road game, let's take another one at NCU.

Just watched the replay...wow, awesome win!!! Amazing that the Hornets only had 2 points through the first 8 minutes of the game and still won, UND should have buried us in that opening stretch. Great defense by both teams, UND really made it hard for Garrity and McKinney to get anything going. Great bench play by the Hornets. Mills carried this team and Tiffin came up huge inside. Solid team effort to come from behind and close out the win in the final 4 minutes as McKinney came through in the clutch…again…

3-0 in BSC play! :o

Congrats to BOTH the Men's and Women's for great wins over North Dakota! The Men are now 3-0 in the BSC, the Women are 2-1. Let's keep it rolling Saturday vs UNC!

Great to see a 3-0 conference start!

When I watch the replay it looks to me like Mikh could have gone up with a shot when he first got Antwi in the air and either make the shot or get the foul call....the big question is, would he have gotten the foul call at that point in the game? I think he did the right thing by not relying on the ref to make the right call. We don't seem to get those calls very frequently.

I agree, never leave a game in the hands of the BSC refs in any sport. Way to put the ball in McKinney’s hands and trust the senior even though he was having a tough night. He killed that defender on the cross over and then finished with an off balance shot. Absolute stud play.

@ Northern Colorado

The BSC leading Hornets (9-5, 3-0 BSC) take their 4 game winning streak into Greeley to face a solid UNC (7-7, 2-1 BSC) team. The Bears shoot the ball well and have a good balance of production from both the front court and back court. Guards Svihovec (11.9 ppg, 2.6 apg) and Michael (11.5 ppg) get it done in back court, while senior forwards Lee (10.0 ppg, 6.9 rpg) and Huskisson (9.6 ppg, 3.4 rpg) attack up front. While UNC is near the top of the BSC in scoring, they are near the bottom in defense.

IMO the Hornets are playing with house money in this game. UNC is a tough team and it will take a complete game for the Hornets to pull off a back to back road winning streak. The Hornets have been getting into some foul trouble as of late and that could kill them against a team like UNC. If the Hornets can avoid a slow start I think they can win this one.

This will not be easy but I think the Hornets can get a win in Greeley. the last two road games have been very good learning experiences and I believe that will propel them tonight. Experienced leadership is invaluable on the road. The last second shot by McKinney should prove to the rest of the team that they can win on the road even when not playing their best game. I think the Hornets will play looser and better tonight and dominate the action. GO HORNETS!!!!!!

I love what Hornsby brings to the Hornets, but man, eventually he's going to have to learn to avoid these compound brain fart scenarios...

Bad pass, turnover, blocking foul...

39-36 at halftime. Sac State showing up well.

Good job Hornets.

Keep playing Hornet basketball and fight hard. Teamwork.

Best of luck in the 2nd half.

we are all behind you!!

Sac State Pride.

Sac up 39-36 at the half...pretty good first half...need to find #24 when he has the ball...got to get to the line more....all in all a decent first half
