Marching Band

I know that Torre Chisholm has a full plate but does anyone know if there is any effort being made to field a band for football games?
 
I'd settle for a band that just sits in the stands, fills up a section of seats, and plays music...they don't even have to march!

Heck, even just a drumline.
 
Yep, I would settle for a drum to assist and start chants. Imagine if everybody in the stadium was joining in with an accelerated beat for kickoffs, or everybody doing the defense chant together.

We need a drum....a big one...and a competent drummer to lead chants!
 
Timber Jim performed at a game or two last season. Was better then nothing. I would prefer a band, but timber jim would add to the atmosphere.
 
I don't think we need to steal the Timber's guy. We need our own. I bet we could even use his drum (probably stored at PGE Park), but we need our own guy, like a guy dressed up as a Viking, ala the Minnesota Vikings.

I think having Timber Jim would be great. He is a Portland icon. Plus he would provide a link to the Timbers and the Timbers' fan base specifically the Timbers Army. It would be a coup to get the Timbers Army coming to the Vikings games. They are great!
 
I hope someone with influence in the AD office approaches the Timber's army and sees if they will attend the games. Anything to put some electricity in the air at PGE should be looked at.

That is outstanding news.....What marching band did they get?

I am hoping that once school administration notices how even "A BAND IN THE STANDS" will energize the fans /users/31/07/37/smiles/mw_thumb.gif , inspire the team /users/31/07/37/smiles/zzsmile2.gif , make PGE park the in place to be on Saturdays /users/31/07/37/smiles/smily39.gif /users/31/07/37/smiles/17505923.gif /users/31/07/37/smiles/bdance2.gif /users/31/07/37/smiles/smily16.gif and sow the seeds for the "PORTLAND STATE VIKING-MARSCHMUSIKBAND"

What? No college marching band? It ain't footabll season without a marching band playing the fight song. Come Sept. 1 we will rock "The Hole" at McNeese!
