In somewhat surprising news, English is back as our defensive coordinator and LB coach. What happened with Jones?

That's a weird move. I'm sure the pay at Cal Poly is good, the cost of living is much higher but he held a higher position at UNC.
 
Could be he got demoted there when English was hired as D-coordinator.

I am excited what he brings to Cal Poly. He has coached at San Jose State so he has California recruiting ties. He has coached at Dartmouth so he understands recruiting to Cal Poly’s high academic standards. He has been a D-coordinator in the Big Sky.

I think this hiring English happened after Jones left for Cal Poly. I'm more worried about our loss of coach Cummings. I haven't been able to find out what happened to him.
 
Good article about English coming back to UNC. He has coached some great Bears in the past, let's hope he does a better job then Jones.
