The IWFL playoffs have been MASSIVELY affected by the Massey Ratings, which are supposedly designed to ensure better competition in the playoffs. In this case, it's affected the location of games and even caused a team which SHOULD have a berth based on head-to-head is SNUBBED. Egad!
So, here's the Divisional Playoff sched for Sat, 12 JUN:
Tier I
NY Sharks (7-1) @ Boston Militia (8-0)
Atlanta Xplosion (7-1) @ DC Divas (5-3) ?!?
Chicago Force (7-1) @ Dallas Diamonds (7-1)
SoCal Scorpions (6-2) @ Sacramento Sirens (8-0)
Tier II
NE Intensity (8-0) @ Montreal Blitz (8-0)
Chattanooga Locomotion (4-3) @ Carolina Phoenix (8-0)
Memphis Belles (5-3) @ Wisconsin Warriors (5-3)
Modesto Maniax (1-7) @ Bay Area Bandits (5-3)
Winners face off at home sites 10 JUL for Conference Championships.
Conference Champions face off 24 JUL at Round Rock, TX:
Tier I: World Championship
Tier II: North American Championship
(Before you ask: every Tier II team in the Pacific West Division except Bay Area finished 1-7. Mr. Massey decided that the Maniax were the best of those, so they get the playoff nod and another likely blowout.)
