McNeese State Thread

Manually timed with two watches. But they ran the 40's on the new track and they didn't add the .1 second that they are supposed to add when running on a track. But even adding the .1, he is damned fast.

The only problem last year was he kept beating people deep and he and the Qb had problems making connections with the pass. From what I have heard is that the two worked a lot in this offseason in getting on the same page with the deep ball.

I am pretty sure it was not electronic but the kid can definitly pick em up and put em down. You got any 4.1 - 4.3 DB's [img]/users/31/07/37/smiles/594399.gif

(and he's not even the one you're really going to have to watch /users/31/07/37/smiles/645213.gif )

How many DB's does it take to cover 4 receivers and stop an all-conference running back?

Just hope you don't see a lot of what's shown below from No. 6. /users/31/07/37/smiles/269784.gif

But this is the guy you have to watch out for. The Player of the Year in the Southland last season. He wil be returning kicks, catching passes, running reverses, etc.

After playing WRs like DeShaun Jackson last season I'm sure our DBs will be fine with these guys. /users/31/07/37/smiles/269784.gif

It was on a track, and he is a trained sprinter. The coaches did use a hand timer, so I would add .10 to that time. He has been timed electronically at 4.28, which I guess is not exactly slow.

I'll take that time. /users/31/07/37/smiles/595146.gif

My guess is that McNeese doesn't have enough DB's to cover four receivers and stop the run.

P.S. Blitzing? Forget about it! Slants, shovels, screens, flats, delays. You aint seen nothing yet!

And my guess is PSU doesn't have the players in place that will produce this all world offense you think you have

What % of your roster stayed on campus over the summer and worked out together????

Percentages dont mean much. Those that practiced together were the skill players. They ran 7 on 7's all summer. The rest of the guys continued thier work outs either at home or on campus. You should be proud of your team working out on campus during the summer, but they are not the only college team to do so.

Apparently you will be surprised at the quality of the PSU Viking footlball team, but, of course , that will be to our advantage.

/users/31/07/37/smiles/246125.gif PSU will NOT surprise us in our house. We know there is plenty of talent in the fold in Portland (We still remember 2004) I am sure McNeese is not the only team to have 90% of their roster work out together and further solidify an already good team chemistry. But, it will be the only team on the field in Lake Charles on Sept 1 that did it.

I think PSU is the team that will be surprised. There seems to be an attitude here that the R&S is going to just cruise through this game based a couple of coaches and using the 2006 Griz games for comparison.

Curious as to why and how you came to that conclusion?

What do you REALLY know about us.

6'1" 200 pounders with 4.3 speed on the La Gulf Coast are a dime a dozen. That is why most schools down here play a 4-2-5 defense.

And HOW do YOU know what kind of quality team you will have not having them seen them play a SINGLE down yet?

When you blitz you are leaving your secondary on an island, with 4 WR's going out at once you won't have enough players to cover all of them and blitz, hence somebody is going to be wide open, example.

Watch this video, go to 2:44 minutes into the video, and you wills see what happens when you blitz.

O.K.....we have never had green helmets in all of our history, and this year we feature no green at all.

Hmm.......I swear McNeese went 7-5 last year...but listen tot heir fans!!! they say they are going to be good! We destroyed them a few years ago but they are better now! How are we supposed to believe that? We are supposed to be afraid of a 7-5 team that we embarrassed before? WTH? I can't wait until game time, once again I predict McNeese comes out on top

but.........

WOW, and all this time we thought our coaches knew what they were doing when they won those 11 conference championships, 27 playoff games, and got us to the NC game twice. /users/31/07/37/smiles/645213.gif
