when i was a student (way back in the day :grizo1: ) i really wanted wsu to get the black uni's. i thought it was so cool that the show had them 4 yrs bfore i went to wsu, talk about a long time prior. :shock:

now that im old school i prefer school colors. so maybe i should have said i dont hate the black uni i just prefer actual school color.

midmajor, do me a favor and get some of your friends to join the board since maddog cant. we need more young. i need more entertainment, the usuals are too boring.

It's a new world where athletic brand is actually a part of the college selection process for players. Are they an Adidas or Nike school? Sounds crazy, but it's getting to be style over substance. Coach Rahe is all about substance, but smart enough to understand how kids think today.

I'm not gonna argue that the culture isn't changing in that regard but that will never be the right approach. Seriously, if a talented athlete is going to make a decision based on uniform style and color, the kid is a joke and probably not too bright. Style works so much better with substance than without. I hope Weber State is never an enabler for that type of attitude. Keep your Oregon and style worship, I'm not interested in paying for something so superficial and shallow. Give me talented, hard working kids, with good attitudes and pride in themselves and their team/school.

Actually, Lillard was a hard working, talented kid with a chip on his shoulder from being overlooked by the "style" schools. Now, he's a hard working professional making bank off of Adidas.

Tennis shoe companies are huge! Weber gets dollars from Adidas and Adidas wants to sell uniforms. There's huge money in sport attire. I understand that you might still be wearing pro-keds..... But the big 3 tennis shoe companies try to sponsor AAU teams to convince the best kids to show their allegiance even before college. Next time you see Damian, ask him what his deal with Adidas is worth each year.

i really like this midmajor guy! keep on posting son! but please dont dis me for not being up-to-date or as you say state-of-the-art. its not as easy as you say. i will admit i know little about internets, the email, and smart pad things and silicon, frouters and wifi thing-a-ma-jigs. i think we can all admit wifi is magic! i may not know a damn thing about any of that stuff but i do know how to root for the purple & white!

That's what so cool about being a WSU hoops fan, we have a little bit of old and a little bit of new, but in the end, we all just want to win!

This is a great place to go to school and the Basketball program is on the rise. I want to respect all you old codgers and the good ole days!! But also want you to know as a student, my good ole days at Weber are ahead of me!

My dream is to be able to enjoy this together! No matter what the colors of the Uni's are this year!

Nice try but you're not funny or are just a disrespectful, clueless kid-- not sure what you're going for. I may be "old" but I'm not that old and still enjoy running up-and-down the court in my DWill Nikes and do just fine against young punks I assume to be about your age and intelligence.

Funny you use technology to try and show us old guys as being out of touch when my profession is a wide range of IT support for 29 locations throughout Northern Utah. Much of what I do is to try and figure how young, "know-it-all" kids right out of school have screwed up their computer or network equipment. It's no surprise you make reference to Apple products since they are the stylish and highly marketed make of tech equipment targeted at the simple minds. iPads, iPhones, and the like are like having training wheels on your bike-- made to be simple and difficult (at best) to screw up, basically made to protect you from yourself.

I understand the need for sponsorship and marketing, especially for a poor school like Weber. The words you forget to mention is sellout, dishonesty, and ethics. Shoe companies have no business targeting kids, period, but you're right, times change and everything becomes more corrupted. The almighty dollar is what's most important. In fact, this is why college football is going down the toilet it is. I suppose people like you are cheering it on as sponsors and those who have money dangle stylish objects in front of your wide eyes.
