Men Host Portland tonight

This Las Vegas Classic schedule is throwing me off.. There is a game tonight at Butler Hancock that has no ties to the tournament as we host the University of Portland (West Coast Conference, otherwise known as Gonzaga's Conference). The Pilots are 5-3 on the season. Including 0-2 against the Big Sky. They appear to be a solid team, their wins are: Washington Yale, UC Davis, Nevada and Idaho. With losses to Portland State, Eastern Washington, and BYU.

Some other random facts about this school: Small, Private, Catholic school with enrollment of about 3200. Established in 1901.

Tip-off at 7 at Butler Hancock.. go bears.!

I'm assuming Big Sky TV? If so I'll be watching on there so Troy give us a shout out and wave to the camera.

Ya, BigSkyTV.. it starts 30 minutes after the womens game ends so it probably wont be quite at 7:00.

It popped up and showed about 10 seconds of warm-ups and then it's going kind of bonkers.

This is a really nice win by the Bears. A good litmus test against a team similar in quality to the Big Sky opponents.

Good win! I realy enjoyed hearing the Mexican radio station in the background! Really, I felt like I was back home in Colorado! I think the KFKA feed was picking up a station from somewhere. :D

Was that mexican radio in the background? I kept thinking I was hearing faint music but couldn't figure out where it was coming from.

Glad to get the win, it was a little tight there at the end but we held them off. I always think we shoot bad but looking at the stats we did pretty well.

I wonder if we'll sign someone else for next year now with an open scholarship?

The BigSkyTV audio for men's games is coming off a radio. It obviously didn't get tuned completely back into place.

And the answer to the scholarship question is yes, there are plans to sign someone else.

But, then again, I don't know anything. I'm just a honk for the department.

Another signing, good to hear.

And are you saying they literally hold the microphone up to an actual radio?

I'm not a tech person maybe that's the only way to sync it with the streaming video but that is crazy if so.

Thanks for putting up with us Troy. Most of us appreciate the "insider" information we get from you.

Blo, not quite a mic in front of a radio. Line output off the back of a receiver for a component stereo setup. Radio Shack for years made a model that had tuning that was impeccable, even on AM, and I've gotten my hands on a few for various uses over the years.

If you think you heard a lot of the Mexican station with the tuning the way it was, it would have been worse with a lot of AM radios on the market today.
