Men's Basketball Attendance

Now, if they could just entice students to go to games, that would really help as well.

Yes it would! Unfortunately the sales team won't really be involved with getting students at games, except that we're encouraged to try to get any student we talk with to go to games. I would LOVE to work more with students, because those are the people that could potentially be season ticket buyers in the future.

Plus the students are the people that really create that home court atmosphere, they get the most raucous and make college arenas what they are. That is too bad that the sales team won't be that involved getting the students to the games, that would be great for the program!

Half the students don't even know we have athletics teams, and half of the half that do know don't realize that they get in for free. Swear. It's awful.

Speaking in the vernacular and voice of one Randall P. MacMurphy:

"The signs being used now don't grab the students to no action. They got no sizzle to 'em to make them want to investigate this as a social phenomenon. What's needed is some kind of attention-getter that grabs people's attention and looks so good, they want to at least check out who and what was behind that good idea.

I suggest some kind of provocative flag on game day being ceremoniously raised up. Maybe do that bah-BAH! (C->G) little trumpet fanfare when it goes up and then have little reminders of it throughout the day. Maybe when the clock strikes the hour. You gotta keep massaging it til you find something what works."
