Through the first two weekends of the college football season, no team at either the FCS or BCS level has received more penalties than Portland State. The Vikings have had the most penalties in the Big Sky Conference each of the past three years and have finished among the worst in the nation each year.

Hey Burton.

You may not have a 'discipline' issue, but you sure as hell have a penalty issue.

Right the wrong and get it fixed!

Here's one way to stop a few penalties, don't try to substitute defensively at the end of the field when facing a no huddle offense or do it a hell of a lot faster. We had a couple offsides penalties when guys couldn't get off the field before the snap.

I agree with the substitution penalties. Those are on the coaches.

When are we going to quit saying guys are young? It borders on making excuses. We are young at some positions, but we aren't that inexperienced. A lot of these guys played some serious minutes last season, and they've had a spring and summer practice to learn the system. The reason they get penalties, is because they are getting beat. When they get beat, they grab for the face mask, or interfere on a reception. They need to quit getting beat. Period.

If PSU is going to wait for everyone to be a senior before they win, you are only looking at two winning seasons in a decade.
