Mid Year Transfers

Slightly better than ho-hum for me. At least the kid from Hofstra started 2 years for a 4 year college experience and should be able to step into a starting O line slot. Murdaca will be a solid backup (or starter)if needed. We still need to find another freshman quarterback for the future.

I agree, I like Murdaca's size also, 6'1" 225 lbs. I wonder how fast he is though.

Does anyone know who will be backing up MBT next season (That's right, MBT for starter! :D )?

Stung,

I think it's a pretty sure thing that if MBT does everything that's asked of him, he'll be the starter next year. Someone posted on here that Smith was calling it a career after this season because of nagging injuries and other reasons.

Wish him the best.

But, with MBT slinging the ball around the field to our playmaking receivers and Bryan Hilliard trucking people. Next year could be special...

I like these additions. I also like that there are only 3 JUCO transfers so far so I’m hoping that means most of the recruits signing on Feb 3rd are coming straight from high school.

Anyone else think Sperbeck lines Murdaca up as the kicker and runs some fake FG’s out of that?

It will be interesting to see how much playing time Martinez gets at safety. With Gordon and Schrader both returning at their starting position, it almost seems like a waste. Possible redshirt maybe?

Sounds like Sperbeck is going to put Harrell at guard. I can’t imagine Taylor being moved from his starting center spot.

And yes Kadeezy, next year should be special. This is even more of a reason to schedule an FCS opponent at home (USD or SUU who both have 9/11 & 10/16 open according to CS.com) with the last OOC spot. We need that game to count towards the playoffs.

Harrell is not a JC transfer.

Right, but he only has 2 years of eligibility at Sac State, which was the point I was trying to make. He is a solid addition to an OL that graduated 3 starters.

The dude had better actually kick a couple if Sperbeck expects to get away with the fake idea. Fakes of any sort only work when the play being faked is actually run a time or two.

Martinez could play if he's better than the other corners and safetys we have. If by chance Biaz is not the D coordinator next year and someone else takes over with a different scheme, I could see Schrader and Martinez both playing. Watching the video of Martinez, he reminds me a lot of how Schrader comes up and hits people. As far as Murdaca lining up to kick and then faking, everyone in the stadium would be on the lookout for that. Those plays work when the regular kicker or whatever is lined up and the defense is pretty confident you're not going to try anything. Remember we have a Boise connection in our coaching ranks now.

Come on CC. you know something, what gives?

Yeah what do you mean “if by chance”? Are they in the coach’s office flipping a coin on who will be the DC?

Baiz is a good recruiter, but our D has consistently ranked in the bottom half of the leagure for awhile.

I'd like to see Mike Clemons be the DC, he is a Hornet and is tough nosed and knows the area w/o the baggage of being a HC.

Guys, Baiz is and will be the Defensive Coordinator. Nothing is happening and this type of speculation in the final weeks up to signing dates isn't helping recruiting, not to mention it simply isn't the case. Sperbeck would have made the change right after the season if he was going to do it, but Lou is not going anywhere.

You can’t be serious about the banter on these boards affecting recruits…you’re joking right?
