The transition defense needs work, but we won't face many teams in the Big Sky this fast. They said earlier that Miss St. had the #9 ranked recruiting class in the nation.

The EAGS won't face any BSC team with this size or speed. We are going to be just fine.

No BSC teams, but it's a concern in the post season. We really have to be shooting well to compete with these type of teams.

What the hell happened in this one? Eastern was up four points and I had to take care of a family issue. I came back to the TV about 15 minutes later and we had scored 4 points in that span and were getting blown out. Did we just fall apart midway thru the second half?

Perfect storm. Started going cold, bunch of strange calls, and their transition offense came alive. We never got back in it after a stretch of about 10 minutes where nothing was going our way.

MSU started playing defense and took away penetration where Jois, McBroom and Bliznyuk were torching them. EWU couldn't get any stops and foul trouble on starters started to pile up.

New PG McBroom is very good. It's one game but he looks very capable of replacing Brandon Drew.

Main problem I saw last night is depth, bench doesn't seem as deep. Also, when they need a bucket last year Hayford just handed the ball to Harvey. Jois seems to be that guy this year. Again, it's one game. Also other than Bliznyuk and Van Hoff, didn't see many shooters from the 3 for the EWU.

The only other team that will come close to MSUs athleticism is Pitt.

All in all, they were outplaying a Power 5 school on their floor for 25 minutes. Looking forward to Nov 23 game here in Seattle vs Seattle U.

GO EAGS

I agree that depth was our problem. Our starting 5 could play with their starting 5, but once those guys started getting into foul trouble our bench couldn't keep the momentum going.

The good news is the guys that seem to be coming in from the bench are brand new players with limited experience. Well, good news in that they will only get better from here on out.
