Montana State Game

Good finish on the half for Weber, up at half. It's also half time between UM and ISU griz down 2, 31-29. Maybe the bengals can help us out for once... I wouldn't put any money on it though.

A good end to the half, That one player from MSU couldn't miss in that half, hopefully he will cool down a little bit.

Live and die at the free throw line... We will get killed in MT if we shoot as bad as we did tonight... Hopefully we can at least split in Montana but I doubt it. And Otis just screwed up and let his emotions get the best of him... Without him I doubt we'll win at Montana!!!

You could blame the officiating, but you could also blame the free throw shooting or the ball handling!!! What a crappy game!!!

Bengal, the MT ST announcers said Mook was not ejected with a technical foul, no tech was called. Since he did not run into the middle of the scuffle, he was given an "administrative ejection" which meant he could not go back into tonight's game. If what they said is accurate, he should be able to play in Missoula.

Tough loss, Cat's need to regroup and get the split. It's a good thing Scotty wrapped up Mook or he would have been in the middle of that scrum.

Mont St's not bad. Always tough to win on the road. Cats hung in there till the end. Berry was knocking down 3s.
Looking forward to Saturday's game.

Well, that sucks we lost that game, but you have to give credit to MSU. They played fantastic. Sometimes that happens when the other team just plays lights out on their home court. Other than turnovers and rebounding in the second I thought we played decent. We shot a high percentage and played hard, but we just came up short against a determined and athletic MSU team. We will bounce back. Look at it this way, MSU won by only 5 points and had to play their best game of the year on their home court to beat us. I read that Otis will be able to play tomorrow night so that is good. We will be fine. I promise. :) Go Cats!!

After a night of reflection and some really terrible dreams, I've come to the conclusion that this team will never amount to much as long as they don't learn how to beat the zone and mix up their defenses. Weber couldn't slow down the bobs and our man wasn't working. #1 way to slow down a hot team who was getting most of their points inside the arch...OH remarkable...a Fing Zone!!

Did anyone else notice that MSU was using the same 1-2-2 matchup that BYU used against us? Hmmm...how did Sac and NAU stay close ZONES...How did ISU stay close ZONE...How is Weber going to lose the Big Sky Championship??? Not being able to beat the ZONE!! Gotta hand it to Huse. He out coached a stubborn Randy Rahe last night. Each game requires change.

And another thing...Missed FT's and way tooo many TOs; especially at the end. I'm sorry Gelaun needs to get his head in the game. He isn't developing as a PG. And the Cats toughness was definitely lacking for much of the second half. They were playing flat.

DAMN!! It's amazing how fast some of you supposed DIE HARD fans turn on Randy Rahe after 1 loss. :ohno:
Give me a break, this is a VERY HARD road trip for any team out there, step back from the ledge take a few breaths and realize we are DAMN LUCKY to have Randy Rahe here still. Also, IF you think you have all the answers on how to fun a perfect team how about you go become a coach. I have an assistant coach spot available to anyone who would like to give it a shot for a game or 2.
This is a DAMN GOOD WSU team.
Rahe is a DAMN good coach.

Let's see what happens at Montana...Rahe has been outcoached the last three years by Montana's Tinkle at Missoula & Greeley (in tourney). Rahe is a very good coach, but he is inflexible at times ("a creature of habit" he admits). Hope he doesn't get "tinkled" on Sat. nite! GO CATS!! :twocents:

Wheels needs to learn to play under control before he'll ever be an effective point guard. Too often he sprints down the court with the ball only to get a charge or take a bad quick shot. And I cringe every time Bolomboy gets the ball in his hands. He's a great rebounder and shot blocker (maybe one of the best Weber's ever had), but he has a hell of a time handling the basketball. But, the loss last night wasn't really a big upset, IMO. Weber hasn't been playing great and MSU is really coming on strong lately.

I hate to say it, but MSU is playing good basketball. They damn near stole the game last week in Missoula. I figured this would be a 6-7 win bobcat team, but they may well end up 3rd in the league. No shame in losing to them in Bozo.

The game Saturday is important, but not the end-all for either team. It should be a great battle. I will admit I'd love to go to Ogden with a two game lead and not "have" to win that game, however.

I think we can expect a dog fight on Saturday night. Everybody may want to take a quick inventory of fingers and toes, before and after the game. I don't think that any of the cats will be any too happy going in to this one. Can't say how the offense will perform, but I know exactly how our defense will respond. :coffee:
