Vikings Get 20th Win Of The Season, Beating Montana State 64-58

Kind of a blah game tonight. Not a lot of energy from the crowd.

We play well in spurts, and poorly in spurts, but could have won by 15-20 if the starters had played out the game. After watching this MSU team in person, that loss in Bozeman stings even more. Not exactly a great team.

Hopefully we can pick it up for the very likely home tourney game on the 7th.

Oh, and I have a rant.

For the love of all that is Viking... Can we please replace the rim on the east side of the court? I sticks in the down position at least once per game and has done so all season long.

Disappointing crowd. Why we can't fill that place for the final regular season game? Last night it would have only taken 240 more people. Frustrating as hell.

Agreed that we played well in spurts. Just like we've done most of the season and why we are only 10-5 in conference. We simply don't take it to the basket even when we have open lanes. Phil Nelson tried a couple of times but his touch was off tonight. We will need to play better than that to make a run in the tourney. Weber and Montana are playing the best ball right now.

With the win last night, PSU can finish no lower than 3rd, but you still have a shot to get a first round bye, But this is the stuff that has to happen. PSU needs to beat MSU (already done), beat EWU AND Montana needs to lose to UNC, AND THEN UNC needs to beat MSU, if that happens, PSU will finish second.

I don't pretend to understand the arcane calculations Wildcat used, but if he's right one of the three events he mentioned as necessary for PSU taking second place fell right tonight, with Montana going down at the hands of Northern Colorado. Let's see how the other two go on Saturday. UNC seems to be on a roll, and they're playing at home. And if PSU muffs the Eastern Washington game, they deserve third place. Go Viks!

Interesting. The way that MSU looked in Portland the other night, I'd expect them to lose this game.

We just need to take care of business.

Thanks for your help, but I think we can figure this out on our own.
4th best school in Utah.

what did I do to deserve that????

I was just helping those who didnt know , fans like you can piss off.

And now Im actually rooting for both EWU and MSU.

"4th best school in Utah" handed PSU's a$$'s back to them twice already this year, can we go for a 3rd.

That't not really a bad thing, the other 3 schools are very good. All 3 have votes and are almost in the Top 25. No reason to get mad...2 of em beat us by 30 or more.

Its the way he intended it that pissed me off, talking crap on Weber even after they beat PSU twice this year.

I never said anything insulting, I was just helping out those who didnt know, and for my reward I get that.

Marty - you're spot on about my Bobcats. This team played very well in the first of the season, getting HUGE wins against Oregon State, Colorado, Weber State, and you guys. Since then, the wheels have fallen off and there is no mechanic talented enough to get them back on. That's why I am asking you guys to take care of business against EWU Saturday night so my Cats can back into the tourney. Not like we would make any noise if we got in; just would like to see my boys get another game. The way we are playing right now, I am not confident we can play our way into the tourney, so we need your help.

Ah, stay classy, everyone! Dystopianmembrane's snapping was uncalled for. On the other hand, you Weber guys can't expect us to be all flowers and puppies this season. Now, everyone shut up and be against Montana...
