Thoughts at half time:

This team has regressed, sad to see.

The offense is totally inept... completly ineffective, how many huge loses can you take in a half?

We haven't had a big play on offense in 3 games now. The play calling is so redundant and predicatable. No pass protection, unable to run the ball... then we get desperate and run that same reverse we've run about 20 times this year and it gets stuffed for a huge lose.

Can these coaches adjust at all??? We have no imagination on offense, it's like week one out there with our game plan.

Special teams terrible, we always lose the field position battle and of course our kicker blew a chip shot, the guy is terrible.

The defense has played well and the only reason we are in the game.

Wow... is anyone watching this? I'm speechless, this team has flat out quit...

I guess the jokes on me I'm the only one that can sit through it, the punter can't even hold onto the ball and just drops it, what a joke. :x

Just got back from my kids b-day party. Down 13-0? Sounds like the D is doing decent.

It was good to see them get inside the 10 and get the TD instead of settling for another missed field goal.

If we had a field goal kicker we'd be tied at 13. :x

I don't think Waggener should've played that game. He wasn't himself and we couldn't have done much worse offensively with Orms back there.

I agree, our offense has taken a step backward and the special teams are on life support at the moment.

I don't think Waggoner is the problem though he has zero pass protection and half the snaps are at his feet... Hey, crazy idea, maybe being in the shotgun all the time isn't really that effective...

But yeah I also agree the play calling is just very redundant and predictable. The best example as stated above is that reverse to number 12. It popped against Texas State for like a 80 yard TD and since then we've run it like 10 times and it's been shut down every time. Darnell, I'd think you'd realize this but the other teams watch film of our games so they sort of know that play is coming...

We just don't seem to be able to add new wrinkles or schemes to our offense and just run the same plays from week one. When I watch it seems to me the other team pretty much knows exactly what we are going to do and has it covered. We have no big play capability anymore, never throw the ball downfield, never stretch the defense, only try to run off tackle and it gets stuff constantly... We need a stud RB to take the pressure off the passing game but all these 5'7" guys just aren't it. I'm not sure why when we were DII we could always find good strong, big, Colorado kids at RB but now we have to go to JC's to get the most mediocre, undersized, slow backs around.

Special teams are a disgrace. We need to use a scholarship on a legit kicker. The guy out there, I assume he's trying hard but he just doesn't seem to have the talent or the onions for the job.

Overall I think the coaching staff has really let the team down as the season has progressed. I won't go into it here but more on the Downing thread but this team really has gotten worse instead of better as the season has progressed which has been very disappointing to see.

Blofeld, what do you mean we can't recruit? We took Downings kid who is way over 5'7". I think he's up around 5'9". As far as Darnell, the game passed him by years ago. He is using UNC to keep his son employed. On the upside, I went to an out of state game last weekend, and a couple of buddies of mine that coach are planning to come to Greeley as coaches, because as they put it, " There is no way that any of that staff is going to be around next year."
We can only hope their right.

I agree with most of what you said.

I thought coaches were to formulate game plans week to week, play to the players strength, I feel UNC has talent and athletes but its almost as if the coaching staff isn't utilizing them in the best way. Look at Montana, I watched the game, they weren't amazingly athletic but you could tell they were well coached and well prepared. Every week I see the same shitty play calling, receiver screens for no yards, receiver sweeps for no yards, worked ONE time. Seems like they run two formations, or maybe three. They have no balance on offense, running is way below sub par, and I don't know if it's the running backs they have or the offense. I've seen Wilson and Woods make some really good runs. I completely agree they never stretch the field. Do they even study film to see what works and what doesn't? I'm not no coach, but I could out there and call a better game.

I hope he's right too.
