Very true. You would expect a senior to step up and make free throws in crunch time. Pretty pathetic. :thumbdown:5minmajor said:There's no true leader on this team and that shouldn't be an issue when you have four seniors. I really thought Tevin, Dom or Tim (or all three) would step up and fill the need. I just haven't seen it. Very disappointing to watch the continuous up and downs from this squad.

You got that right, and it starts at the very, very top with Hill. He has been a .500 coach for 5 years and that's all he will ever be. We should not be suprised that this is where we sit today.

Is basketball about the players, coaches or a program in general? Every year someone on this board comments about the team leaders. Last year we talked about Tate, Derrick and Tevin. This year the young men mentioned above. The one constant in every discussion is Hill. Why does it appear that we struggle with leadership? I will suggest it has a lot to do with Hill.
Lets look at his record, besides the Kansas St. win, name one game where we have knocked off a better team or bigger program. Heck lets look at the conference games, Hills February record is 17-19. His record against Montana is 4 and 8 career overall. His career record is 73 and 74. My point: we would love for the Bears to win more games, but it appears that under Hill, the Bears are a .500 club. This is regardless of who are the perceived floor leaders. If that record for UNC is unacceptable, I will let the powers that be decide the programs fate.
Cue Downtownbear!

When we entered D1 basketball, I would have thought a consistent .500 record with a chance to make a run (win) in the Big Sky tournament every few years would be a solid goal. When you look at some of the more established Big Sky teams, how do we stack up against their facilities, campus life and coaches pay? My guess is we are not up there with the Montana's and Weber State's of the world. If we continue at this pace, I am fairly happy and would prefer not to rock the boat too much.

Exactly. Until we step up our donations and attendance, we shouldn't expect anything more. Boyle is a rarity. When the alumni and community give below average donations, we must expect below average coaches and players.
