What is the matter with us. Every game that we lose we lose it the same way. I have about given up hope that we will host the tourney.

So sick of this. Randy Rahe... out...coached...again. :wall:

Glass half full, I didn't think we would win up there anyway, it's too tough beating a team 3 times in a row and if we're going to lose one to the griz tonight was the time to do it. Maybe Rahe isn't showing all his cards, save some wrinkles for the tournament, after all isn't that what we were after, a ticket to the big dance...

Yeah, maybe that's it. I highly doubt it! UNC is in position to have it all tied up come Saturday night. With Weber's recent history of finishing conference play, I wouldn't be holding on to any cards.

It takes the sting off, and tastes so good.

Is it just me or does anyone else find it odd that the WSU men's team is on a 2 game slide meanwhile our women team at the same time is on a 2 game winning streak. Their first in probably 3 years? Sorry ladies, we need you to be competitive (see SUU men's team) but lose again.

I find it odd that I was posting nearly the same post/observation on the "Weber won't win the Conference" thread at the same time

What a terrible game to watch.

One thought...and it hit me pretty hard last night, what would Weber have been like with Gelaun? Jordan, regrettably, just hasn't been the rock he has been the last two years. I don't know why, but he just puts too much pressure on himself. Gelaun was arrogant and a glory hog, but had abilities that were being honed and he was due for a break out season. In rat ball sessions last summer he was the only player who could guard Berry and really nobody could guard him. He still took too many threes, but when he wanted to get to the hoop nobody could stop him. I think it was a little rushed what happened last fall, who knows though if it hurt the team or was a good thing. I'm starting to think it hurt the team more than it helped. :coffee: :dunce:

So do you think it has more to do JR or with the stagnation of the offense at times, especially when it comes to a screaming halt with a zone or the slightest of presses? I'm thinking he struggles more when there's little flow. It's very strange how the entire team looks scared to play at times and it's often after they've been playing just fine and you'd think they're building confidence and momentum. I certainly noticed that in last night's game.

Interesting thought. I for one, thought Wheelright was really improving his approach through the season last year. But who knows the complete Why of that decision.

This team's problems don't stop with JR. All three seniors have been disappointing at various times. Tres was big last night and absent at ISU. Berry seems to come and go — and we come or go with him. He was out of sorts to start the season, got hot through the middle of conference, and seems to have cooled off again.

Unfortunately, after those three, we then rely on the contributions of some really young players. We've needed more senior leadership and we're not getting it. I thought we were peaking at the right time, but something has to change on Saturday to get me back to that thought. Our assists per game has seriously dropped in the last few outings.

That ISU game killed me. I still couldn't believe it was the same score as the Sac game -- and in overtime as well. Those games were so similar in the level of frustration I felt as I watched us...and then the boom was lowered both times...

See that is where Rahe should be a coach and set in. We do get into a groove and then our opponents get some stops and we keep trying to do the same thing over and over and just look lost. Why would we hold cards still? Just getting to the tourney is not good enough. We should host and win at all costs.
Now what would be an absolute logical reason why we cannot break the press? I'm completely lost

its hard to believe we lost in missoula, a place we haven't won in 5 yrs and we've lost 6 in a row. i was expecting that to be the toughest game of the yr and not leave with a win. i realy hate this 3 games in 6 days stuff ever since unc joined in 2006 we cant get rid of it.
