@ Montana

Appologies??? Most of you clowns have been all out negative Neds for the last 3 months. Now that this TEAM put a scare in the #2 team show just a tiny bit of class...

Man you have got to be the biggest cuck for Best ever. Why don't you go crawl back in your hole until Best gets us to the playoffs again. So never. We used to make deep playoff runs now we struggle to make 0.500.

A good coach would have told their players to get the fuck out of bounds instead of fighting against two defenders to get half a yard then getting tackled in bounds, then we wouldn't have had to spike the ball.

Making an adjustment in midseason would have helped. Good coaches can figure this out earlier than AB did. Maybe this QB is what we need going forward, yet our talent level is not what it used to be. I am hoping that maybe next year we can be a solid team but I doubt it. I hope I am wrong but I am a realist.
He didn't even figure anything out. The two mediocre QBs ahead of Schakel got injured. If not we'd still be stuck with Bell or Taylor and their awful throwing.

I'm flat out proud of this team on this day. No quit on every play and every down in the signature game of this season. Thanks!!

Not sure what you mean by this at all. Based on today's performance, Schakel should have been playing from game one this year. Maybe the coaches didn't have confidence in him coming out of fall camp, but I suspect that it's more to do with Best's affinity with seniority when what he should really be doing is putting players on the field who give the team the best chance to win. And I'm not taking anything away from the other QBs.

Hopefully that's the case. I love Bell, but this can't be some weird thing where there's sort of QB controversy coming out of this season. Schakel is clearly the best QB on the roster and will only get better as time goes on. I think Bell absolutely has to be on the field, but think he is better suited at RB, wildcat QB, or even a slot receiver. He's a total play-maker who needs to be on the field, but Schakel has to be the guy.
even Best isn't going to be able to deny what everyone else saw with their own eyes.

we probably beat Northern Iowa and Incarnate Word with Schakel playing, putting us at 6-4 going into the final two games and a shot at the playoffs. I have been screaming all year long to play him, yet it took unfortunate injuries to make that happen.

It's quite literally seniority. Taylor is a grad student, Bell is a red shirt sophomore, Schakel is a red shirt freshman.
