come on wildcat fans. we need to get exited we are undefeated in conference so far and we can host a playoff game. every home game needs to be sold out lets get the word out. we all need to make a goal to bring at least one person with us to the northern colarado game on october 18th. we are a legit team. so whos with me, lets all make a goal to bring at least one person to all the homegames.
we beat the 3rd ranked team already this year, i think we will make the playoffs for the first time in a long time. and also everyone watch this video http://www.weberhoops.com/footballclips.htm version 2 is coming soon.

Attendance is a constant problem... How many students are there at Weber (18,500), How many WSU employees (I have no idea, but I'm guessing over 500), How many citizens in the Greater Ogden Area (Davis, Morgan, Areas of Box Elder, Weber counties) over 600,000... WTF!!! I believe that it is better to have a full stadium selling seats for $5 per seat than having a empty stadium and selling seats for $15... PROMOTIONS ANYONE??? Weber is just one of four major universities along the wasatch, and unfortunatley, we are the least respected... More work needs to be done!

I see no problem with GA being $5 instead of $10. If your not selling em does it matter what the price is? I guarentee Mac would say lower the price. Then raise the price when the stadium sells every game since the place only holds 17,500.

Give me a freakin break! Ticket prices are not the reason why our attendance sucks. For every home game this year I have been able to find tickets for $5 or less. The biggest problem is that you have to search like crazy to find these promotions , which all falls back on marketing. Now not to beat a dead horse here, but i'm sure most of you already know my feelings towards our marketing dept. You can run all the promotions and give out all the discounted tickets you want, but if the public doesnt hear about it then what good does it do?
By the way, what in the crap is it going to take to get students to go to the games? Students get in for FREE. Enrollment is around 18,000 and yet we cant get over 100 students to come to a game? This is total "BS"
Students, get off your lazy ass, come to the games and bring a friend. Who knows, you may even meet new people and have a great time. And if you dont care for football, at least come and stare at the cheerleaders, and the other girls in the stands. Just get to the "F"-ing games. Students have no excuses to not come to games.

Good points, but cheaper tkts is a good start.

When I was at the game on Sat, i didnt talk to anyone that new we had a half off coupon for the UM game on the schools site. Also, i dont think anyone knew on Monday the bookstore had a sale on apparrel - 5% off for every touchdown scored. A girl I sat by at the game didn't even believe me, lool!

But i did go in and get 30% off yesterday on a hat!

I like the bus thing we have going on in Ogden but some billboards would be good too! One withh teh schedule would be nice too. We need the commuinity to know WSU has sports and we are good!

Great Points A.J. I totally agree with you! The Marketing Dept. spends, wasn't it like $40,000, on some data marketing company to tell them that they are lazy and inept? That makes sense to me. As for the students, isn't there a student fan club and student government? Wow, they are definitely earning their scholarships. Pathetic!!

I think you could do a lot of focus on getting the instifruits to go too. They seem to be the students that get more involved in school things.
Also, if we could get the bell tower back along with DJ Stryde, I believe attendance would soar!
One thing is for sure, it could be a lot better. Granted the Montana game had some pretty crummy weather, but the video on youtube makes one think it was a highschool game because no one was there. Of course I can't complain too mucy because, well, I wasn't there either. Sorry.

I just read an article on Weber,s homepage that said student enrollment is up to 21,674 students. Also, if you total up the population of the areas around WSU and within 10 miles it totals 252,500. Therefore to fill the stands all Weber needs to get is 7% of those people to come to the games. My suggestions: Make it Cheep to get in, GA tickets $5, if you wear purple $4, Family pass for $15 bucks( this way they don't have to buy season tickets and feel like they are paying a ton up front and they can go to the games they want). In between game play there needs to be more to keep the fans entertained. The students need to have something that gets them out to the games, maybe Weber should reward students who go to the games by giving them 5% of books for every game they attend earning up to 25 or 30% off. The reality is there are a ton of things that could be done to boost attendance but I don't think that they dare to try them. Regardless, there really is no excuse why we have the poor fan support we do, I think they just got lazy and let people stop caring.

i agree if the stupid marketing department cant get it done we, the wildcat fans, need to do something. that's why im saying we should all make a goal to find at least one person that normally wont come to a game and bring him or her with us. i mean it can be a cheap fun date for crying out loud. with the number of students we have we should definitly be able to up the average attendance pretty easily. i am making it a goal to get more people out to football and baasketball games because it is free for students and i always have a blast even if our team does lose its still fun to hang out with everybody.
