How is that going to really work? Won't there be a rush of schools in 2011 trying to join? We shall see how long that really lasts. Though 4 years is really not that long. Gives you time to build the foundation I suppose.

For the schools on the east there is no hope period, they don't have the attendance to get, UMass maybe be good but 17K a game won't get you into then Big East. So it doesn't matter for those schools. As for the West, La Tech will be leaving the WAC soon. Opening one slot for a team, I see PSU, UM, UC-Davis, CSUS, and Cal Poly being the best teams for that spot. UM is locked with its sister MSU so they won't go, chances are it will be Sac State or Cal Poly. Unless UC-Davis or PSU make large strides it should end up as one of those schools.

Won't be Cal Poly or Sac State to the WAC. Probably the best candidate would be Cal Davis. They have awesome facilities, large enrollment, lot's of alums. Their new football stadium seats 15K and is easily expandable to 30K. No contest. It would be Cal Davis.

Some good points. Where is Louisiana Tech going out of curiosity?

C-USA

O.K. so who in C-USA leaves? They have 12 teams. It 'aint going to be UTEP 'cos they don't want to have anything to do with the MWC.

Well then I guess the Sun Belt huh?

That would be my guess. C-USA could lose a school or two to the Big East though.

Who? They have no schools that can compete in the Big East. Or are they wanting another bottom dweller?

Memphis has been rumored to move to the Big East plus East Carolina.

lol so yeah bottom dwellers.

Memphis would be the right school as far as money is considered. They are big time in basketball, and USF has been okay in football with no tradition, so maybe they're ready.

USF (South Florida) is already in the Big East. You must mean Central Florida.

I KNOW my conference alignments.

I'm saying that they have done well in the Big East, even though they had no football before the mid 90s, and therefore Memphis should do fine. Sorry for wording it badly.

That's O.K. Nobody's perfect.

Being a big Hawaii fan, I would love to see PSU get invited to the WAC in the near future. In fact, I think ya'll are already just as, if not more competitive than teams like Idaho and Utah State.

Thanks for the kind words.

The race for the FBS ends in 2011, somebody is going to get that one slot for the WAC. Granted La Tech leaves for the sun Belt.

Would La Tech really go to the Sun Belt? They're better than that. C-USA maybe?

CUSA has 12 teams now. They would have to lose one school to allow La. Tech in.

Exactly, and they aren't that good either, they are 119th on defense out of 119 teams. They can go there and succeed

Maybe now, but historically aren't they light years ahead of any Sun Belt program? Either way, I don't really care. I'd be happy to see them leave to make room for PSU in the WAC.

If we get our act together all around we would be a better fit for the WAC. La Tech is in Lousiana, nothing "West" about them.
